Hil-o-Hanay pays tribute to a rich cultural tradition rooted in mutual respect, gratitude, and the noble practice of helping one another — hil-o-hanay — done out of genuine kindness, not obligation. 🌸

This meaningful festival bridges generations, inspiring the youth to embrace the spirit of bayanihan and community service. It honors the strength, compassion, and harmony that bind the people of Sigma — to each other, to nature, and to their faith. Through Hil-o-Hanay, the Sigmahanon spirit shines bright — resilient, generous, and proudly Capizeño!

Rooted in the spirit of unity and exchange, the Tagbuan Festival brings to life a tradition that dates back to the pre-Spanish era—when upland farmers and coastal fishermen would meet by the shore to trade their harvests and catches in a moment known as “tagbu.” 🌾🐟

Today (May 29), we honor that meaningful connection through vibrant festivities that celebrate Pilar’s cultural heritage. From traditional dances to local showcases, the festival reminds us of the strength found in community, cooperation, and shared abundance.

This is celebration of where we come from and how far we’ve come. 🤝🌊
