The Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), in close partnership with the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Pontevedra and the Livestock Research and Development Center (LRDC), successfully implemented a three-day Massive Animal Check-Up across multiple barangays in the Municipality of Pontevedra, Capiz, last November 19-21, 2025. This collaborative initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance livestock productivity, improve animal health, and provide accessible veterinary services to rural communities.

Throughout the three-day activity, trained PCC technicians delivered a full suite of animal health interventions, which included:

✔Artificial Insemination (AI): To support genetic improvement programs, increase fertility rates, and help farmers upgrade the quality of their herds.

✔Deworming: To control internal parasites, improve feed efficiency, and promote overall animal wellness.

✔Vitamin Administration: To boost immunity, strengthen resistance to diseases, and enhance the growth and productivity of livestock.

✔Pregnancy Diagnosis: To assist farmers in monitoring reproductive performance and planning for proper breeding and herd management.

These services were extended to the livestock raisers of Hipona, Yatingan, Lantangan, Jolongajog, Sublangon, Guba, Agdalipe, Malag-it, Linampongan, Tacas, Ameligan, and Rizal, ensuring that even geographically dispersed communities benefited from the program.

The success of this initiative was made possible through the active participation of barangay officials, community members, and local farmers, who provided a warm welcome and continuous support. Their cooperation significantly contributed to the smooth implementation of the activities.

Sa panahon ng tag-ulan o inaasahang bagyo, maghanda para sa seguridad hindi lang ng pamilya kundi pati ng mga alagang hayop.

Narito ang ilang paghahanda upang maiwasan ang sakuna:

✅Ilipat ang mga hayop sa matibay at mataas na kulungan
✅Maghanda ng sapat na pagkain at malinis na tubig
✅Maghanda ng mga emergency supplies (katulad ng: flashlight, first aid, gamot at baterya)
✅Iwasang itali ang mga hayop sa puno, poste, malambot na lupa, o daraanan ng tubig
✅Lagyan ng ear tags, rope tags, o pintura ang hayop upang madaling makita o may pagkakilanlan ito kung sakaling mawala
✅Alamin ang nakatalagang evacuation sites para sa mga hayop
✅Tumutok sa balita at abiso ng lokal na pamahalaan
✅Alamin ang mga emergency contact numbers ng inyong Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) o iba pang kaugnay na ahensya
