FCU-SHS joins 7th Division Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) Virtual Camp from November 19-20 and 27-28, 2020 via Facebook Live at DepED Tayo Roxas City and Zoom.

Registration for the said contest is FREE and in VOLUNTARY basis.

Tsunamis are some of the most destructive natural occurrences on earth. Being in the Pacific Ring of Fire, the Philippines is prone to these gigantic waves, with the strongest one killing around 4,400 people in 1976.

Fortunately for us, we are equipped with a formidable shield that can help mitigate the effects of tsunamis: our mangroves. Situated along the coastline, they serve as a barrier between the land and the sea, protecting nearshore communities from strong winds and waves. Mangroves reduce the potential damage of tsunamis by taking the first blow of the impact and dissipating the energy of the wave as it passes through the mangrove area.

Despite their many benefits, our mangrove forests are on a steep decline and continue to face many threats. In Bulacan, mangroves are being cleared to give way to the Bulacan Aerotropolis. On behalf of the FCU YOUTH FOR ENVIRONMENT IN SCHOOL ORGANIZATION(YES O), I would sincerely like to thank you for the sponsorship you provided for our YES camp held on November 23-25, 2018 at Philippine Craftsmen Lanot, Roxas City,. Thanks to your generous sponsorship, we were able to attend the camp and provide enough materials and other expenses for the participants. This is our first time to join the said activity and this made every participant happy. This event would not have been a success without the generous support you have provided us throughout.
