Science majors from Capiz State University (CAPSU) - Main Campus emerged as top contenders in the Provincial Teacher Education Quiz Bee hosted by the Carl E. Balita Review Center (CBRC) on April 17.
Lance Zyron Cartujano clinched the championship title, while Aira Nicole Delostrico secured third place and Cleo Marie Buendia finished sixth, bringing pride to the university and to the Society of Future Science Mentors (SoFSMe). All three are from BSEd Science 4A.
Cartujano demonstrated exceptional academic mastery throughout the competition, consistently leading in various rounds outperforming 22 participants from eight schools across the province. Delostrico also delivered a strong performance to land in the top three, while Buendia maintained a competitive standing to secure a place among the top finalists.
The quiz bee incorporated diverse formats, including note-matching, modified true-or-false, and identification, spanning topics from General Education to Professional Education.
CAPSU Main delegation was coached and supported by Prof. Jenelyn Faelangco, who guided the students throughout the competition.
Cartujano is set to represent the province in the national level of the competition, further raising the banner of CAPSU.
The CBRC Teacher Education Quiz Bee is an annual academic competition that brings together aspiring educators from various universities to assess their knowledge, critical thinking skills, and preparedness for the teaching profession.

A proud moment for the Society of Future Science Mentors (SoFSMe) as its student researchers emerged victorious in the PAGPANALAWSAW 2026: The 6th Studentsโ Research Symposium and Conference of Capiz State University โ Roxas City Main Campus, under the Undergraduate Programs Category.
The team, composed of Cleo Marie Buendia, Lovely Garbosa, and Pauline Faith Depena brought honor to the organization after securing 1st Place for Best Paper and Best Presenter.
Their winning research, titled โFrom Textbooks to Tales: Implementing Conceptual Storytelling to Improve Student Engagement and Interest in Physics,โ showcased an innovative approach in making physics more engaging and meaningful for learners.
Guiding them throughout this achievement is their research adviser and SoFSMe adviser, Dr. Mary Grace Galagate, whose support and expertise played a vital role in their success.
PAGPANALAWSAW is an annual research symposium and conference organized by the Office of Student Affairs Services (OSAS) of Capiz State UniversityโMain Campus, aimed at strengthening research culture, fostering innovation, and showcasing the scholarly works of students across various disciplines.
This milestone reflects the passion, excellence, and commitment of SoFSMe in shaping future science educators.

As we experience growing energy challenges in the Philippines, including concerns on fuel supply and rising demand, this simple act becomes even more meaningful. It reminds us that conserving energy is not just symbolic, but necessary in addressing real and pressing issues in our country.
Through this act, we show that awareness can turn into action. As future science mentors, we continue to lead by example, encouraging small steps that help protect and preserve our only home.

In support of the campus-wide โ๐๐ ๐๐๐โ in preparation for the upcoming audit, the Society of Future Science Mentors (SoFSMe) actively took part in the cleaning, organizing, and streamlining of workspaces at Capiz State UniversityโMain Campus. Guided by the 5S principles, SoFSMe members ensured proper arrangement of materials, labeling of files, and removal of unnecessary itemsโpromoting a clean, orderly, and efficient learning and working environment.
Together, we contribute to a campus culture rooted in discipline, responsibility, and readiness.
