Rufina Andrada Santos Memorial School warmly welcomed the seminarians and volunteer catechists from the Archdiocese of Capiz as they conducted the Religious Instruction in Public Schools (RIPS) for our learners.

Through engaging discussions, prayers, storytelling, and values formation activities, the learners were guided to deepen their faith while cultivating respect, compassion, integrity, and responsibility. This meaningful initiative reflects the shared commitment of the school and the Archdiocese of Capiz to nurture learners who are not only academically equipped but also morally upright and spiritually grounded.

The activity formally opened with a Welcome Remarks, Mrs. 𝑭𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒂 𝑨. 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔, 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑰𝑰, warmly welcomed the parents, teachers, and stakeholders, emphasizing that a safe, child-friendly, and nurturing learning environment can only be achieved through a strong partnership between the school and the community. She underscored the importance of parental involvement in supporting school programs and initiatives that promote learners' welfare, protection, and holistic development.

A significant highlight of the program was the orientation on Learners' Rights and Protection Measures Prior to the Conduct of an Active Shooter Drill, facilitated by 𝑫𝒓. 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑺. 𝑩𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒔, 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑰𝑰. The session provided parents and stakeholders with a clear understanding of learners' rights, child protection principles, and safety protocols to ensure that emergency preparedness activities are conducted responsibly while safeguarding the physical and emotional well-being of every learner.

The program also featured the Induction Ceremony of the Newly Elected HPTA and SPTA Officers for School Year 2026–2027, administered by Principal II, Felicisima A. Artates. The ceremony symbolized the officers' commitment to uphold the vision and mission of the Parents-Teachers Association and to strengthen collaboration between the school and parents in advancing quality education.

Representing the outgoing administration, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑲𝒆𝒚𝒏𝒊𝒆 𝑶. 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆, 𝑺𝑷𝑻𝑨 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 2025–2026, delivered the Turnover Message on behalf of outgoing 𝑺𝑷𝑻𝑨 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑴𝒔. 𝑾𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒂 𝑭𝒆. In her Message of Acceptance, Ms. Keynie O. Andrade, the newly elected SPTA President for School Year 2026–2027, expressed her sincere appreciation for the trust and confidence bestowed upon the new set of officers. In preparation for the conduct of the Active Shooter Drill, Rufina Andrada Santos Memorial School (RASMS) successfully conducted a Classroom Orientation on Learners' Rights and Protection Measures on July 17, 2026.

The orientation was facilitated by class advisers in their respective classrooms to ensure that all learners were informed of the purpose of the drill, their rights, and the safety protocols to be observed before, during, and after the simulation. The activity emphasized the importance of remaining calm, following teachers' instructions, respecting one another, and understanding that the drill was conducted solely to strengthen the school's emergency preparedness and response.

The orientation also highlighted the school's commitment to providing a safe, secure, and child-friendly learning environment by ensuring that all safety measures are implemented with due regard for the protection and well-being of every learner.

Through this initiative, RASMS continues to uphold the Department of Education's commitment to disaster risk reduction and management by promoting awareness, preparedness, and a culture of safety among learners and school personnel.

The activity oriented both teaching and non-teaching personnel on the proper implementation of safety protocols while ensuring that the rights, welfare, and well-being of learners remain the highest priority. Participants were reminded to conduct emergency preparedness activities in a child-sensitive, organized, and non-traumatizing manner.

The orientation is anchored on DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012 (DepEd Child Protection Policy), which upholds every learner's right to a safe, secure, and protective learning environment, free from all forms of abuse, violence, discrimination, and exploitation. It also supports the Department of Education's commitment to strengthening school safety and preparedness through policies that protect learners while fostering a culture of awareness, preparedness, and shared responsibility.
