SHOWCASE OF ABILITY: Awareness and Runway Stars

Today, Ivisan Elementary School proudly conducted its National Disability Rights Week Program in celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week with the theme:

"Rights First, Legislation Forward – Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development."

This meaningful celebration served as a reminder that every learner deserves equal opportunities, respect, acceptance, and a safe, inclusive environment where their abilities are recognized and celebrated.

The program featured inspiring messages from our distinguished guests, a community pledge signing, disability rights awareness sessions, the much-awaited Runway Stars and Talent Presentation, awarding of certificates, and a community Zumba that promoted unity, wellness, and inclusion.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our School Principal Mr. Eddie B. Arcenas, our Municipal Mayor headed by Hon. Felipe Neri N. Yap, Dr. Fe D. Bañez, PSDS, MSWDO headed by maam Mira Docallos for facilitating the free Jollibe lunch, Rural Health Unit, Ivisan Municipal Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection, Municipality of Ivisan Brgy. PWD presidents, parents, teachers, volunteers, and all stakeholders whose unwavering support made this celebration a success.

As part of the 2026 National Disability Rights Week Celebration with the theme, "Rights First, Legislation Forward – Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development," Ivisan Elementary School successfully conducted a Community Field Trip and Awareness Activity for our learners with special needs in partnership with the Ivisan Municipal Police Station and Ivisan Fire Station.

This meaningful learning experience provided our learners with opportunities to explore, discover, and build confidence while promoting safety awareness and community inclusion.

Creating a Safe & Motivating Learning Environment for Every Learner!

In line with our commitment to making our schools a safe, secure, and conducive place to learn, here is a quick guide to DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026 Guidelines on Ensuring Safe and Motivating Learning Environment.

🔹 1. Routine Entry Inspections – Conducted only via non-contact methods (scanners, metal detectors). No "stop and frisk" or physical pat-downs allowed!

🔹 2. Full Bag Searches – Only done under reasonable suspicion (never based on discrimination). Learners must be escorted discreetly to the Principal's Office accompanied by a Guidance Counselor or designated staff.

🔹 3. Handling Prohibited Items – Weapons, illegal substances, and hazardous materials will be turned over to authorities. Irrelevant/disruptive items (like common tools or vapes) will be seized using a formal Confiscation Slip.

🔹 4. Vehicle & Item Inspection Procedures – Clear guidelines for 4-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles entering the campus, ensuring proper surrender of dangerous items for safekeeping.

🔹 5. Prohibition of Portable Electronic Devices – Cellphones and electronic gadgets are prohibited during instructional hours to minimize distractions, except for academic purposes or during emergency situations.

🔹 6. CCTV & Security Equipment – Schools are encouraged to install CCTVs in strategic locations (entrances, hallways, outdoor spaces) to monitor activities and enhance safety.
