Sharp minds, quick thinking, and a passion for statistics took center stage as the freshmen students from the College of Education and College of Nursing gathered last Thursday, August 13, 2026, for the Philippine Statistics Quiz Bowl โ€“ Elimination Round, putting their knowledge, analytical skills, and critical thinking to the test.

Under the supervision of Dr. Susan O. Parce, the Math Pirates facilitated the contest to determine the students who would best represent Filamer Christian University in the next stage of the competition. The activity provided the participants with an avenue to showcase their statistical knowledge, sharpen their critical-thinking skills, and engage in healthy academic competition.

After a series of competitive rounds, Justin Anthony Villaron emerged as the Champion, followed by Karlyn Lorenzoas the Second Place, while Thessa Marie Beyo secured the Third Place. The three top-performing freshmen will represent Filamer Christian University in the upcoming Philippine Statistics Quiz Bowl โ€“ Provincial Round, carrying the universityโ€™s pride and their determination to excel at the next level.

With enthusiasm and unity, the Math Pirates Organization gathered for its first organizational meeting for the School Year 2026โ€“2027, held at 12:00 in the afternoon. The activity began with the self-introductions of the first-year Mathematics majors, followed by the introductions of the higher-year students, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encouraged camaraderie and strengthened the bond among members of the organization.

The meeting then proceeded under the guidance of our adviser, Dr. Susan O. Parce, where important matters, organizational plans, and goals for the academic year were discussed. The gathering served as a meaningful opportunity for collaboration, open communication, and shared commitment toward academic excellence and active participation in the Mathematics community.

As we embark on another academic year together, may the Math Pirates continue to foster friendship, leadership, cooperation, and a deeper passion for mathematics among all its members, inspiring each one to grow academically, socially, and professionally as future mathematics educators and professionals.

A successful culminating activity was held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Barangay XI, Mansion Road, Roxas City, marking the official conclusion of Project ISIP.

This meaningful event would not have been possible without the support and permission of the Barangay Captain, Hon. Rufino Dunton, along with the Barangay Council. We also extend our sincere gratitude to Maโ€™am Melody J. Blance for her unwavering assistance, and to our adviser, Dr. Susan O. Parce, for her guidance throughout the project.
