MAYOR RAMON A BENJAMIN SR NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL joins the celebration of the (June 2022), and strongly advocates for a world free from to***co and e-cigarette smoking.

The celebration of ***coDay on May 31 ushered in the observance of June as National No-Smoking Month in the Philippines. Pursuant to Proclamation No. 183, the observance aims to raise public awareness on the ill effects of smoking as well as to encourage smokers to give up the habit.

Globally, to***co kills more than 8 million people each year from direct use and exposure to secondhand smoke. Locally, there are 16.6 million Filipino adult to***co users.

Among Filipino students aged 13 to 15 years old, to***co use increased from 13.7% in 2011 to 16% in 2015 based on the Global Youth To***co Survey. Moreover, 42.7% of Filipino students have already heard of electronic ci******es (e-cigs) and 11.7% of them already tried or experimented with the device.

We call on everyone to join us on this fight to make our communities be truly a safe space for children by eliminating this deadly vice. Our call to the young people .
