Continuous learning and professional growth took center stage as the faculty and staff of Datu Lipus Makapandong National High School (DLMNHS) conducted their first Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session for School Year 2026–2027 at 1:00 PM today, June 8, 2026.
The session focused on key educational reforms and instructional innovations that will guide teachers in the implementation of the new school year. Among the topics discussed was DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026, which outlines the Guidelines on the Implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar in Basic Education. Participants also explored the ILAW Framework (DepEd Order No. 016, s. 2026), the Department of Education's latest lesson planning approach designed to strengthen teaching and learning delivery.
Leading the discussion was Sir Mario L. Ayuban, Master Teacher I, Instructional Supervisor, and Grade 7 Coordinator, who provided valuable insights on the latest DepEd issuances and their implications for classroom instruction. Teachers actively participated throughout the session by sharing ideas, experiences, and practical strategies, making the discussion both engaging and collaborative.
The LAC Session also became a venue for reflection on the emergency situation encountered earlier in the day following the reported magnitude 7.0 earthquake that affected Mindanao. Sir Joringel Jalalon, Master Teacher I and School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Coordinator, provided feedback on the teachers' responses and handling of learners during the incident. He highlighted commendable practices observed during the evacuation and reinforced essential emergency preparedness measures, safety protocols, and disaster response procedures to further strengthen the school's readiness for future emergencies.
The gathering likewise served as an opportunity to formally introduce the newly assigned teachers who have joined the DLMNHS family this school year, warmly welcoming them into a community committed to excellence, service, and learner-centered education.
To support classroom readiness, School Principal Ma'am Jine L. Havana spearheaded the distribution of essential teaching materials and other school supplies to faculty members, ensuring that teachers are equipped and prepared for the demands of the new academic year.
The first LAC Session of School Year 2026–2027 reflected DLMNHS's commitment to continuous improvement, professional collaboration, disaster preparedness, and quality education. As educators embrace new policies, strengthen instructional practices, and learn from real-life experiences, they remain united in their mission to provide every learner with a safe, responsive, and meaningful educational journey.

The ceremony was led by the teaching force of DLMNHS, highlighting the school's commitment to unity, discipline, and patriotism as the academic year opens.
As part of the school's Oplan Balik Eskwela initiatives, the program also featured the introduction of the teaching and non-teaching personnel, allowing students, particularly the newcomers, to become familiar with the educators and staff who will guide and support them throughout the academic year.
School Principal Ma'am Jine L. Havana likewise extended her warm welcome to all learners, parents, teachers, and stakeholders.
Adding inspiration to the occasion was the presence of Hon. Alberto B. Picot Jr., Barangay Captain of Poblacion, who delivered an encouraging message to the learners and other participants.
As the Philippine flag soared proudly this morning, so did the hopes and aspirations of the DLMNHS community for a productive, meaningful, and successful School Year 2026–2027.
