CERTIFIED AND HIRED: NAVIGATING THE SHS EXIT THROUGH EXCELLENCE IN WORK IMMERSION
A Testament to the Power of the TVL–Home Economics Strand
When Robella Blessie Fabian started her journey in the TVL–Home Economics (HE) strand, she didn't have a background in the industry. She lacked confidence in the basics, but she possessed a powerful desire to learn. Through perseverance, she transformed her self-doubt into a drive for excellence, showing up every day to practice and refine her craft.
The Turning Point: Excellence in Work Immersion
The true test of her skills came during her Work Immersion. Blessie didn't just fulfill her required hours; she stood out so much that she became "on-call" during her training period. Her supervisors saw her potential early on, relying on her skills and work ethic even before she finished the program.Because of her focus, flexibility, and professional discipline, she achieved the ultimate goal: she was absorbed immediately into the establishment right after her immersion. She didn't have to look for a job; her performance created a job for her.
Mastering the "Two Exits" of SHS
Blessie is a prime example of how the Senior High School program prepares students for the real world. She successfully navigated two major SHS exits:
1.TESDA National Certifications: She graduated as a highly skilled professional, earning three (3) NC II Certifications:
oCookery NC II
oBread and Pastry Production NC II
oFood and Beverage Services NC II
2.Immediate Employment: By utilizing these certifications and the experience gained during her immersion, she transitioned directly from student to a valued employee in the industry.
A Message of Gratitude and Inspiration
Blessie attributes her success to the Lord for providing strength and wisdom, and to the teachers who pushed her to be better. To her fellow TVL-HE students, she shares this advice:
"My struggles and victories may be different from yours. But if you give your best, stay disciplined, and never stop learning, success will find its way to you. Use your skills and your certifications to open doors. You are building a career the world will always need—SO KEEP COOKING YOUR WAY, TVL-HE Students!"
