The Schools Division of Agusan del Sur, under the Department of Education, Caraga Administrative Region, successfully convened the 2nd Batang Agsurnon Division Learners’ Convergence, bringing together outstanding learners and youth leaders from across the division in a shared commitment to leadership, service, and resilience.

With the theme “Strengthening Youth Leadership, Career Readiness, Health, and Disaster Resilience,” the three-day convergence provided a rich platform for learner-participants to enhance leadership competencies, explore career pathways, promote holistic health, and strengthen disaster preparedness and community resilience.

The convergence also recognized outstanding contributions and performances of participating schools. Congratulations to the Municipality of Rosario for being awarded as the 2nd Runner-Up Performing Municipality, a recognition that reflects its strong support for youth development, learner engagement, and collaborative efforts in advancing education and leadership initiatives.

Among the active participants were the student leaders from Philsaga High School Foundation Incorporated, namely Novie Mell Donn Alvarez, Dwight Garcia, Resyl Gregorio, and John Miller Oro, who proudly represented their school with enthusiasm, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility. Their active participation and positive engagement reflected the values of leadership, teamwork, and excellence that the convergence aims to cultivate among the youth of Agusan del Sur.

Through interactive sessions, collaborative activities, and values-oriented discussions, the learners were empowered to become confident leaders, informed decision-makers, and proactive agents of change in their respective schools and communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all partner agencies, organizers, school heads, teachers, facilitators, and stakeholders who made this convergence possible. Above all, we commend our learners for their active participation and commitment to growth.

Grade 7 Mathlete Yvonne Mae M. Caga-anan will be traveling to Thailand from February 4 to 11, 2026, to compete in the 2026 TIMO Finals, carrying with her a story of growth, discipline, and determination.

With only a few months of training and no national math competition experience in elementary, Yvonne exceeded expectations by earning two consecutive gold medals in national competitions:
• 2025 TIMO Heat Round
• 2025 Big Bay Bei Heat Round

Her gold medal performance in her first TIMO Heat Round surpassed last year’s all-bronze Grade 7 results. This reflects the steady and continuous growth of our Math program.

🅔🅐🅡🅛🅘🅔🅡 🅣🅞🅓🅐🅨: In a clash of talents, voices, and knowledge, the Grade 8 students of Junior High School category and Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) of Senior High School category locked their titles of as they were hailed as Champions of the Speech Arts Festival 2025, with the theme "Voices of Vision: Speak. Inspire. Empower." at Philsaga High School Foundation Incorporated (PHSFI) COL SAMUEL G AFDAL Multi-purpose Gymnasium on November 26, 2025.

‎With a total accumulated points of 210 for HUMSS and 225 for Grade 8, they displayed dominance in every competition—Spelling Bee Contest, Word Formation, Feature Composition, Poem Composition, Poster Making, Trailer Parody, Song Translation and Rendition, Speech Choir, Reading Choral, and Book Character—conquering every one by not degrading the Top 3 and winning most of the first places.

‎They did not just showcase their talent; they showed how their ideas take flight, how visions turn into action, and how confidence is born through every word expressed.

‎With a new achievement made, the Speech Arts Festival is set to ignite more excitement for the next school year—voices rise, ideas shine, and empowerment begins.

PHSFI Aureum Tigers Outshoot DLMNHS Chieftains in Championship Game, 97-90

Who could beat a team so fast, when every move was built to last? Philsaga High School Foundation Inc. (PHSFI) Aureum Tigers reigned as the Champions against the Datu Lipus Makapandong National High School (DLMNHS) Chieftains with a close 97-90 score during their highly anticipated face-off in the PAUSIBA TU ROSARIO 2025 Inter-High School Basketball Championship Match held at the Eutiquio O. Bade Sr. Cultural & Sports Center, Rosario, Agusan del Sur, on September 28, 2025.

Through the guidance of their coach, Edgar Cullentas, the team demonstrated great talent and skill in overcoming their opponents, bearing the lessons their coach taught them and applying these to the fullest.

The trophy isn’t just any win—it symbolizes the true strength of being a Philsagan. Taking pride as representatives of their school, every shot was more than just a throw—it carried the weight of the people who believed in and supported them.

L O O K || The Sci-Math Culmination Activity marks the highlight of our celebration of Science and Mathematics Month. This meaningful event showcased the knowledge, creativity, and collaboration of our students through a series of engaging activities, ranging from academic competitions, problem-solving challenges, to experiments and interactive presentations.

This year’s culmination was more than just competitions, it was a celebration of critical thinking, collaboration, and the boundless potential of young minds. Through this event, we are reminded that science fuels discovery while mathematics sharpens reasoning, and together they pave the way for innovation and progress.

Congratulations to all participants, winners, and organizers for making this celebration a meaningful and memorable success. Truly, this activity has proven that when learning is combined with fun, knowledge shines even brighter.

✨ A Victory to Celebrate: 6 National Qualifiers! ✨

We are beyond proud of our six outstanding PHSFI Mathletes for ranking Top 1 to 5 in the recently concluded Division Math Fair held on September 18, 2025 at Karaos Elementary School. Among 13 strong contenders from each municipality, each one a champion at the municipal level, they rose to the challenge and proved their excellence.

By placing in the Top 5, they have earned the honor of representing the division as national qualifiers in the upcoming 2026 National Science Quest to be held at Teachers Camp, Baguio City.
