ANHS-Sablayan Extension laments for Opong's aftermath
By Florencio Muyo Jr.

Opong hit Romblon around 8:30 A. M. on Friday, September 26, 2025 and it did not spare ANHS-Sablayan Extension causing it to lament for its horrendous state where one recently constructed makeshift classroom was totally devastated and some other makeshift classrooms and permanent classroom alike partially and majorly damaged respectively making the regular face-to-face classes derailed.

This morning, teachers, and students joined the initial ground cleaning in the campus together with the 3 men hired to remove the collapsed tree and classroom wreckage.

Pruning of branches of the trees beside the other makeshift classrooms seem hazardous and more cleaning of the campus surroundings will be done in the succeeding days while the learners are in modular learning mode.

Every learner's and teacher's safety is everybody's priority. With God's help, we can always make our school a safe and condusive place for learning.

Agnipa National High School-Sablayan Extension conducted the school's Academic Recovery and Acceccible Learning (ARAL) Reading Program during the Monday morning's Flag-raising Ceremony yesterday.

As planned and agreed during the latest faculty meeting, the School's Girl Scouts coordinated by Teacher Ma. Riza F. Villanueva managed the Flag-raising Ceremony while Teacher Marie Louise R. Pornillos, Assistant GSP Coordinator emceed the program. Teacher Claire N. Marceno prepared the ARAL tarpaper while Teacher Kim F. Macatol put up the sound system and veil of ARAL tarpaper for the ceremonial unveiling. Teacher Irene M. Fabella prepared the SSLG officers for leading the ARAL Romblon theme song and dance steps. TIC Florencio Muyo Jr. prepared and distribited the ARAL Reading Program leaflets. Teacher Claire and Teacher Carmencita Ignacio took pictures and videos of the event.

Hon. Sherly M. Cerdena, SPTA President showed full support of the program as she responded positively to the invitation to attend and give a message for it and she did it that day.

During the program, Mr. Muyo highlighted the aim of the program to address the learning gaps of identified learners in foundational literacy and decoding skills and that with the assigned trained tutors, namely Tutors Carmencita Ignacio for Grade 7, Cymon M. Minon for Grade 8, Kim F. Macatol for Grade 9, and Claire N. Marceno for Grade 10, they would be engaged in ARAL Reading Basic and ARAL Reading Plus one after the other.

Mr. Muyo explained that the implementation of the school's ARAL Reading Program would be monitored based on the guidelines set for it in DO 18, s. 2025 on ARAL Program Framework and DM 64, s. 2025.

By warmly embracing this DepEd Program, together, we can streamline our reading learners and "no one would be left behind."

4 O'clock Earthquake Drill Spotted at ANHS-Sablayan Extension: Sept. 11, 2025
By Florencio D. Muyo Jr., T3/TIC

Warmly responding to the DM 330 s. 2025, Agnipa National High School-Sablayan Extension conducted an earthquake drill at 4 PM.
With 3 times ringing of the bell, Grades 7 to 10 learners performed the 'Duck, Cover, and Hold' going under their tables and after sometime, they went out of their classrooms, some covering their heads with their bags, going to the open area in the campus to gather after hearing a long continuous ringing of the bell, a sign that tremor has subsided and safe to go to an open area.

To remind everyone of the significance of the activity, SDRRM Coordinator Ronel A. Macasa explained the meaning of the teachers counting all those gathered in the open area-to make sure no one is left in the classrooms and everyone is safe. He also cited the importance of wearing available hard hats for head protection and making the stretcher ready during any emergency situation to get any injured and take him or her easily to the nearest hospital if needed.

Before the activity ended, Teacher-in-Charge Florencio Muyo Jr. initiated the round of applause for Mr. Macasa in recognition of his effort resulting in the success of the activity.

During an emergency situation brought about by an earthquake for instance, the school is equipped and ready with emergency first aid kits to apply first aid to anyone with minor injuries.

Joint PTA Conference for Renaming and Conversion of Sablayan ES to Sablayan Integrated School Supported: August 29, 2025
By Florencio D. Muyo Jr., T3/TIC

Agnipa National High School-Sablayan Extension and Sablayan Elementary School gained support from the parents, teachers, and community in a joint PTA conference. Present during this conference were Barangay Chairman Hon. Fernando M. Faigao, PTA Pres. Hon. Shirley M. Cerdena, SES PTA Vice Pres. Hon. Jennelly R. Hermano, SES Head Teacher Joel M. Selfaison Jr., Florencio D. Muyo Jr., ANHS-SE Teacher-in-Charge, 13 SES teachers, 11 ANHS-SE teachers, and 158 parents/ guardians combined.

During the conference, Mr. Muyo highlighted the current situation of ANHS-SE such that it is not entitled to have a school ID to be a stand-alone school for lack of a required lot area of at least 5,000 square meters and most of the lot area its makeshift classrooms have occupied in 13 years is a private property that is gradually retracted by its rightful owner. These have been the compelling reasons for a need of integration with the adjacent elementary school with a vacant lot where Junior High School classrooms could be structured. However, the existing classrooms of ANHS-SE could be occupied by senior high school learners in the future.

Mr. Muyo likewise reasoned that integrating the two schools by renaming and converting Sablayan ES into Sablayan Integrated School would offer the following benefits: strengthened institutional identity, enhanced resource allocation, efficient land utilization, shared facilities, holistic educational planning, expanded employment, continuity of learning, and cross-level mentoring and activities.

Mr. Muyo was assigned in-charge to prepare the documentary requirements that include a feasibility study, a school site development plan, resolutions on the proposed school integration from SPTA, Barangay Council, and Municipal Council and more.

Before the meeting ended, a printed form for school integration was handed over to Mr. Muyo to serve as a guide for the documentary requirements to be accomplished and submitted to the Schools Division Office. A folder containing a set of documentary requirements was even shown to Mr. Muyo as sample to get an idea about it.
