SLAC session on Content Area Literacy Strategies

JHS and SHS teachers convened for the 4th session of the monthly SLAC sessions which aim to capacitate all the reading teachers, October 20.

An interactive discussion and meaningful exchange of ideas took place as the learning facilitators shared their topics and the participants actively participated in the activities.

Mission accomplished

The first year implementation of Project BTS: Barangay Tahanan Stakeholders-Agkakadwa nga Agpabasa culminates its activity through a recognition program, July 5.

Present in the said activity was the former PSDS of Reina Mercedes, Sir Robert P. Pamittan, Hon. Bienvenido Parallag, Punong barangay of Cutog Pequeño, SK chairpersons of Dangan and Cutog Pequeño, Mr. Richard Agas and Ms. Nimfa Carbonel. Also, some volunteer reading teachers were present in the program.

Students and all stakeholders were given certificates of appreciation as acknowledgement for their efforts and support in the project which led to its success.

Volunteer reading tutors, muling nagpabasa sa mga bata

Masayang nakipag one on one reading session ang mga reading volunteers ngayong araw bilang tuloy tuloy na suporta sa Project BTS.

It's Spelling Time!

Teacher Pamela and teacher Gleena, volunteer reading teachers, shared their time during the pull out reading scheme of the school with the identified struggling readers, March 30.

They gave 10 simple words to spell for vocabulary developmen. After which, the leaners were encouraged to use some of the words in simple sentences.

The said activity was supervised by the school reading coordinator.

Take A Look -In continued support of the school's Share A Book Project (a Brigada Pagbasa project called Project BTS: Barangay, Tahanan, Stakeholders-Agkakadwa Nga Agpabasa), the Reina Mercedes Public Library, under the leadership of Madam Loreta Galanza, Municipal Public Librarian, and with the approval of Hon. Ma. Lourdes Respicio-Saguban, Municipal Mayor, donated additional books (a complete set of Lexicon Encyclopedias and English and Filipino dictionaries), February 20.
