On the occasion of the International Day of the Seafarer 2026, we honor and celebrate the extraordinary men and women at sea whose silent strength and daily sacrifices keep global trade alive and the world connected.

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œCarrying world trade. Carrying the risks.โ€, reflects the reality of their journey. Seafarers are the invisible force of global progress, who endure long months away from home and work under demanding conditions, yet continue to serve with courage and unwavering commitment.

As President of the WIMA Asia and WIMAPhil, I express my deepest respect and gratitude to all seafarers around the world. Your contributions and sacrifices are foundational to the world economy and international supply chains.

To our Filipino seafarers, you remain a source of national pride and global excellence. Your hard work and professionalism continue to elevate the Philippines as one of the most trusted and respected maritime nations in the world.
