Happiest birthday to one of our Photojournalists, Xaina M. Neameyer! πŸ“Έ

Taken pictures to some may just be simple photographs, but Xaina captures storiesβ€”bringing out emotions depicting life. Looking through the camera, fixing angles and directing focusβ€”stillness becomes the art she paints in photos, adding her signature touch to The Spectrum. With every small detail seized, her passion is seen in burning red, storytelling through captions and shot images, making each moment count.

Today, another frame is added to her life's monument, even if not all is capturedβ€”it will be alive inside her, depicted as an unfading picture within her heart. May your photographs continue to overflow in colors, revealing raw emotions and worthy to be kept memoriesβ€”reflecting the life you have been living. Holding cameras suit you, Xainaβ€”keep it in your hands and let it burn with passion; keep portraying what a thousand words cannot ever say.

Cheers to another added picture in your life, Xaina! Shall it capture cascading colors and winsome smiles. ✨

Happy birthday, Xaina! πŸŽ‚

MENTAL WEALTH: Thriving Each Student's Well-being

September 18, 2026β€”From "Mental Health Awareness Symposium", now called: Mental Wellness Symposium! Transitioning from "awareness" to "wellness" came with a purpose, instead of just spreading awareness, TWA now focuses on keeping the Academicians in checkβ€”giving them proper and enough knowledge in ensuring their own mental well-being.

The Phase I of the Mental Wellness Symposium was conducted at the Tayabas Western Academy gymnasium with the theme: "ROOTED AND READY: Finding Your Inner Center in a High-pressure World". Reaching the 5th year since the Mental Health Awareness Symposium was held, the Tayabas Western Academy came with a new agendaβ€”keeping track of every student's mental well-being, promoting a healthier academic lifestyle.

The program began with greetings from the symposium's hosts, peer educators, Neythan A. Elcano and John Joshua A. De Sasilβ€”greeting Academicians who voluntarily joined the Phase I of the Mental Wellness Symposium. Princess Jameela E. Magalong then led the Opening Prayer; followed by the singing of the National Anthem, and a simple dance exercise to energize the high school students.

Officially starting the main event, Mrs. Madonna V. Macatangay, the Tayabas Western Academy's Head of the Health Services Department, offered encouraging wordsβ€”reminding students that the symposium is conducted to enhance the mind, spread awareness, and to help students thrive their inner selves.

In Session 1, Dra. Ezralee Yhana De Villa, tackled "The Science of Sleep"β€”voicing out how to manage stress and avoid being sleepless; reminded students that the key to a successful academic life is to get enough rest. For Session 2, Ms. Ginel Quenna R. De Villa, who is a psychology graduate from Batangas State University opened the topic "The Perfectionism Trap", talking about embracing disappointments, failures, and judgementsβ€”turning fear into a recognizable change within the mind's inner voice.

During Session 3, Ms. Rocelia L. Alcance, who is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, from Colegio de San Juan de Letran, spoke about "Behind the Screens"β€”discussing issues behind the screen and the difference between social media versus real life. Lastly, Session 4: The Quiet in Chaos - Spiritual Session prepared by Ms. Vilma P. Mendoza, an alumna of Tayabas Western Academy, who is also an educatorβ€” addressed that the Lord will continue to fight for usβ€”we only need to be still in peace despite life's chaos.

Concluding the program, Mr. John Joseph A. Umandap, the High School Principal, offered his gratitude to the Health Services Department for another successful event, and reminded the studentsβ€”"Your well-being matters".
