The Expansion of the Voucher Subsidy

DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara and his team met with the PEAC to discuss the proposed Basic Education Voucher Program Act that expands the subsidy program to the entire basic education last May 19, 2026 at the DepEd Central Office, Makati City.

Atty. Filemon Ray L. Javier, Undersecretary for Legal and Legislative Affairs and Atty. Edson Byron K. Sy, OIC - Undersecretary for Finance attended the meeting.

Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) President; Rhodora Angela Fernandez Ferrer, PEAC Executive Director; and Atty. Joseph Noel M. Estrada, PEAC and COCOPEA Counsel, presented the position of the private education sector.

Also in the meeting were representatives from the Government Assistance and Subsidies Service (GASS), Private Education Office (PEO), PEAC National Secretariat, and SLM Attorneys-at-Law.
