📌 Deep Learning Applications in Philippine Abaca Production and Processing: A PRISMA-Guided Systematic Mapping Study

Presented at the 2026 IEEE 16th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE), together with his co-authors, this study provides a comprehensive synthesis of computer vision and deep learning applications across the abaca value chain, from agriculture and fiber processing to textile manufacturing.

It identifies critical research gaps and presents a structured agenda for future innovation in one of the Philippines’ most economically significant industries.

📌 Benchmarking Architectural Inductive Bias vs. Learning Paradigm: A Comparative Study of CNNs and ViTs for Fabric Classification

Presented at the 2026 5th Asia Conference on Algorithms, Computing and Machine Learning (CACML), this study compares Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Vision Transformers (ViTs) under supervised and self-supervised learning paradigms for biodegradable fabric classification.

Its findings offer valuable insights into sustainable, AI-driven textile sorting and recycling applications.

In partnership with 2Go, we are inviting aspiring artists and designers to showcase their creativity in the 2Go Calendar Art Contest 2026.

This year's theme, "Every Delivery Has a Story: Drawing Connections Across the Philippines," celebrates the journeys, connections, and communities made possible through logistics, creativity, and the Filipino spirit.

Eligibility:
- The contest is open to all currently enrolled National University (NU) students who meet the following qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS Architecture) or Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA).
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Must present a valid Certificate of Registration (COR).

Contest Timeline:
- Contest Period: July 27 to September 15, 2026
- Submission Period: September 16, 2026 (Metro Manila Campuses) / September 18, 2026 (Provincial Campuses)
- Screening and Judging: September 21 to 24, 2026
- Announcement of Winners: September 30, 2026
