We'll have a special section for children's books, perfect for us, G**o ng Bayan! 👩🏽‍🏫 Trades are one-for-one: trade a book, get a new read! The event runs for three days: from November 19-21 until 4PM, so visit us at the Benitez Hall Lobby.

Sa gitna ng krisis sa edukasyon, patuloy ang paglamlam at pagbabago ng mukha ng akademikong institusyon, partikular na mga susunod na G**o ng bayan. Ang isyu sa mababang sahod, walang sapat na benepisyo, sandamakmak na dagdag administratibong Gawain, inseguridad sa trabaho, legal na proteksyon, at ang patuloy na pagbaba o pagkawala ng pagpapahalaga sa sektor ng edukasyon ay masidhing nililihis at binabago ang kagustuhan ng mga kabataang pilipino na piliin at tahakin ang landas ng pagtuturo.

Gayunpaman, sa kabila ng madilim na kasalukuyang kondisyon ng sektor ng edukasyon. Patuloy pa rin ang malalim at masidhing pagsusulong ng UP Education Society ang tangan nitong prinsipyong “itaguyod ang karangalan ng propesyon ng pagtuturo.”

Ngayong taon, inilulunsad ang PAGLAUM: Ang Sulo ng Kasalukuyang G**o at ang Pagtupad sa pangakong Mapagpalayang Edukasyon. Isang kampanya na binibigyang-diin ang pagpapaalab muli ng pag-asa sa mga susunod na henerasyon ng kabataang Pilipino na maglilingkod bilang mga G**o ng Bayan sa malapit na hinaharap. Ang kampanyang ito ay parehong paghamon sa neoliberal na porma ng edukasyon at paghahanda sa kanila sa ganap na reyalidad ng isang Makabayan, Siyentipiko, at Makamasang oryentasyon na siyang magpapalaya sa kolonyal, komersyalisado, at mapanupil na sistema ng edukasyon sa kasalukuyan.

As the oldest organization in the UP College of Education, we celebrate 38 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞, 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧-𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ✏️✊

Hindi makakaila na kabilang na ang teknolohiya sa ating buhay. Dahil salat ang suporta sa mga magulang sa mga komunidad, kumikiling ang karamihan sa paggamit ng teknolohiya katulad ng mga cellphone at tablet sa pagtuturo ng kanilang anak sa kani-kanilang tahanan.

Kung kaya't sa ika-36 na anibersaryo ng UP Education Society, ilulunsad ang Community Service na may pamagat na 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗞𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗲: 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗸𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗸𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼. Layon nitong bigyan ng iba’t ibang uri ng estratehiya ang mga magulang pagdating sa pagpapabuti ng motibasyon ng mga kabataan at produktibong pagtuturo sa loob at labas ng teknolohiya. Magpapakilala rin ng mga simpleng paraan sa pagtuturo ng Reading at Matematika sa mga magulang na may anak mula sa Kinder hanggang Grade 2.

Sa nagdaang tatlumpu’t anim na taon ng UP Education Society, nasaksihan ang mga hakbangin ng organisasyon sa matagumpay na pagbubuklod at pagbubuhay sa ilaw ng mga miyembro—isang kolektibong liwanag mula sa pag-alpas ng aming mga diwa. Patunay itong repleksyon ng pagiging bukas sa pagbabago, pagtanggap, katapatan magpatuloy sa pag-abot ng mga tungkulin, at kahandaan maglingkod nang may dunong at karunungan—saanman at kailanman. Sa pagsasapuso ng ilaw na ito ang siyang nagpapalinaw sa adhikan ng pagpanday ng edukasyon bilang makapangyarihang instrumento sa panlipunang pagpapalaya.

Kung kaya’t samahan muli kami sa pag-alpas ng aming samu’t-saring diwa upang malinaw na tunghayan ang aming mga pinahahalagahan, pinagsisikapan, at pinagtagumpayan sa ALPAS-DIWA: Ika-36 na Taong Pagpanday sa Edukasyon bilang Sandigan ng Panlipunang Pagpapalaya.
