Congratulations to Dr. Jun T. Castro for being reappointed as Director of the National Center for Transportation Studies!

The UP National Center for Transportation Studies congratulates Dr. Jun T. Castro on his reappointment as NCTS Director for another term, from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029.

Prof. Castro has served the University for two decades and is currently a Professor under the Transportation Field of Specialization of the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning (UP SURP). As he begins another term at the helm of NCTS, we look forward to his continued leadership in advancing transportation education, research, and professional practice toward safer, sustainable, inclusive, and responsive transportation systems in the Philippines.

Through its research and extension activities, UP BRS contributes to the development of safer, more resilient, efficient, and sustainable buildings and communities.

Dr. Orozco also serves as 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 (𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗚) of the UP Institute of Civil Engineering and as 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗖𝗜 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, further strengthening his contributions to construction engineering, concrete technology, professional practice, and industry–academe collaboration.

For our reference:

Following the announcement of the Quezon City Government on its official page, the UP Diliman (UPD) Office of the Chancellor announced that face-to-face classes at UPD today, 11 September 2026, are suspended due to inclement weather. The members of the faculty are enjoined to conduct alternative modes of learning (synchronous/asynchronous).

Work operations in all UPD units shall remain onsite.
