Goodstart Preschool: Progressive Preschool in Quezon City

Goodstart Preschool: Progressive Preschool in Quezon City Goodstart Educational Center is a progressive preschool based in Quezon City. Goodstart Educational Center was established in 1975.

Our school provides a safe & nurturing environment for early learning, with programs that suit your child's developmental capacities. We feel that the most important contribution of preschool may well be the feeling that children get there: that school is fun, that learning is satisfying and that they are competent in a school setting. We believe that in school, both work and play should be given

equal importance. Learning the three R's (Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic) is vital because it leads children in acquiring more knowledge and understanding of the world around them. For us, children who have had a good start in school are those who grow to be creative thinkers because they are confident about themselves and are excited about learning.

A small Buwan ng Wika gift from us to you 💛

We made a simple, free "Unang Salita" tracker. Print it out, stick it on the fridge, and every time your child says a new Filipino word, jot it down.

Isulat lang kahit paano binibigkas, walang mali dito! Kung sinabi ng anak mo na "tabi" instead of "sabi," isulat mo pa rin. Because that counts too.

Pin it up somewhere you'll actually see it, and fill it in as the days go. By the end of Buwan ng Wika, you'll have a whole list of the words your child picked up this month, and honestly, that's a pretty nice thing to look back on. Okay, be honest. When's the last time you actually spoke full Filipino to your child today? 👀 Not "sabi ni Papa" tucked into an English sentence. We mean real, complete Filipino.

If you're anything like a lot of us professional parents, the answer is probably "matagal na na." And honestly, we get it. English feels like the practical choice. It's the boardroom language, the school language, the "set them up for the future" language.

But here's the thing. It's not actually a tradeoff. Kids with a strong first language, whatever that happens to be at home, tend to pick up a second and third one faster, not slower. Their brain isn't choosing between languages. It's building the whole system language runs on.

So this Buwan ng Wika, we're not telling you to trade your Zoom calls for Filipino lessons. Just say more of it out loud, even the "paano nga ba sasabihin 'yun" version. It counts more than you'd think.

What Filipino word will you teach your child this week? Could be something simple, something silly, whatever comes to mind. Tell us below, we'd love to hear it. 💛
