🚨 From April 1, 2027: JLPT N3 Required for SSW2 Visa

A major update is coming for SSW2 (特定技能2号) — and the focus is clear: Japanese language ability is getting stricter.

📌 New Requirement
From April 1, 2027, applicants must have Japanese at JLPT N3 level (B1 equivalent) or more than 104 points in JLPT N3 exam

This is not just a small change — N3 means you must:

Understand daily and workplace conversations
Read and handle more complex instructions
Communicate more independently on the job

📌 Recent Changes Show the Trend

The SSW1 foodservice pathway has recently been removed
Now, SSW2 requires higher Japanese ability (N3)

👉 The direction is obvious: requirements are getting tougher over time

📌 What you should do now
If you are planning for SSW2:

Don’t wait until the last minute
Start preparing for JLPT N3 early
Focus on real communication, not just passing the test

Japan is raising the bar — make sure you’re ready to meet it.
