This will involve a career and research pathways forum and a hands-on training workshop on chemical oceanography laboratory analysis.

NEW PUBLICATION ALERT! 🌊

Congratulations to Mr. Raymond Rodolfo and his co-authors on their latest study published in Marine Pollution Bulletin! 🎉

Their study shows how acrylic microfibers can affect the feeding, growth, and survival of young oysters, highlighting the potential impacts of microfiber pollution on marine organisms and ecosystems. 🔬

A collaborative research effort across institutions in the Philippines, Canada, and the United Kingdom, this study brings together researchers from University of the Philippines Diliman, University of Saskatchewan, University of Portsmouth, Agriculture Sustainability Initiatives for Nature (ASIN) Inc., and Ateneo de Manila University.

🌱 New Publication Alert 🌱

Congratulations to Dr. Rodolfo A. Romarate II and his co-authors on this new publication on airborne microplastics and their potential environmental and health implications!

The paper highlights how microplastics can continuously transform in the atmosphere, potentially altering their toxicological properties and their capacity to carry other pollutants. This underscores the need to view microplastic pollution as a dynamic and evolving environmental risk.

A warm welcome to our newest BS Environmental Science students! 🎉 We’re so excited to have you in the department! 🌱

Earlier today, our freshies took part in a wildling rescue around the Ateneo Loyola campus, carefully rescuing and identifying native seedlings such as narra, talisay, and bani. They will nurture them for the whole semester and keep track of their growth to give them a better chance to grow and thrive.

Welcome again, BS ES freshies! May your time in Environmental Science be filled with meaningful fieldworks, good friends, and a deeper appreciation for our planet. 💚

Dr. Rene Juna Claveria recently joined Howie Severino in a conversation on the environmental trade-offs of the global shift toward green technologies.

In the context of Pax Silica, his discussion looks at the growing demand for critical minerals, the environmental impacts of resource extraction, and the water and ecological costs associated with emerging technologies.

Following Malacañang's suspension of onsite classes due to inclement weather, classes in GBSEALD, SOH, JGSOM, SOSE, and RGLSOSS will shift online today. The Mass of the Holy Spirit scheduled at 9:45 AM has also been postponed, with a new schedule to be announced.

Students and faculty of ASMPH, ALS, ASOG, and AGSB are advised to await further announcements from their respective Deans.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐲𝐨𝐥𝐚! 😇🙏🏼🛡️🐺💣⛪

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556), founder of the Society of Jesus, whose life continues to inspire generations to walk faithfully with Christ on the way.

From the roads of Loyola, Montserrat, Manresa, Jerusalem, and beyond, Ignatius discovered that following Christ is not merely a destination but a lifelong pilgrimage. Through prayer, discernment, and generous service, he discovered that Christ is present not only in extraordinary moments, but also in the ordinary paths we tread each day. His witness invites us to become pilgrims of hope, attentive to God's voice and ready to follow wherever Christ leads.

As we celebrate his feast, may we renew our desire to journey with Christ, allowing His love to shape our hearts, deepen our faith, and send us forth in service of others.

St Ignatius Loyola, pray for us and guide us to walk faithfully with Christ.
