We are proud to announce that our Director, Dr. Charlston Uy, has recently been appointed as an ASEAN Science Diplomat for Health Sciences by the ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation (COSTI) 🌎⚕️

He was formally conferred with this distinction by Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Dr. Renato Solidum Jr., Usec. Leah Buendia, Malaysian Ambassador Dato' Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino and ASDA Chair Prof. Glenn Banaguas.

Dr. Uy also had the opportunity to speak before ASEAN delegates about his advocacy for advancing oral healthcare, dental education, and clinical research across the region. The assembly was attended by foreign ministers, policymakers, ambassadors, healthcare leaders, distinguished scientists and fellow advocates from across Southeast Asia.

This recognition further strengthens Dr. Uy’s vision as Director of Dental Institute Philippines in promoting innovation, continuing education, scientific collaboration and higher standards of dental healthcare not only in the Philippines, but across the ASEAN region.

Our Institute Director, Dr. Charlston Uy, was honored to serve as Speaker at the Annual Convocation of the Pierre Fauchard Academy — an esteemed international honor dental organization that recognizes dentists who have made significant contributions to the profession and to society.
