Engineering solutions for real-world challenges!

Congratulations to our T.I.P. Q.C. Electronics Engineering (ECE) students for securing a Top 10 spot in the BPI-DOST Innovation Awards 2026!
The team presented Tiyak-itik, an AI-assisted optical imaging prototype for classifying incubated Philippine Mallard duck eggs. The innovation explores how technology can support duck farmers and agricultural practices.

Every great innovation starts with an idea that aims to make a difference.

Inspired to help coconut farmers to reduce crop losses, the TechNovaTronics team from the T.I.P. Quezon City Electronics Engineering programs developed CocoGuard—a portable acoustic-based device that uses deep learning to detect early pest infestation in coconut trees.

Their idea earned 1st Place at the Spark-A-Change Pitching Competition 2.0: Fueling MSMEs with Innovation, organized by the Department of Science and Technology - National Capital Region (DOST-NCR).

Their award-winning project, CocoGuard, is a portable acoustic-based detection device powered by deep learning that identifies early Asiatic Palm Weevil larvae infestation in coconut trees—helping coconut farmers and agri-based MSMEs protect crops, minimize losses, and safeguard livelihoods.
