The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in the Philippines or Centre International de Formation des Autorités et Leaders (CIFAL Philippines) was created in 2016 as a collaboration between the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the University of the Philippines (UP) with the objective of providing training opportunities to government officials and
civil society leaders from the Philippines and Asia-Pacific. CIFAL Philippines offers training activities on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level, migration, and gender equality. Through its training activities, advocacy, and research, the Centre facilitates multi-stakeholder collaboration and best practices exchange. UP was selected by UNITAR to host the CIFAL Philippines due to its leadership in integrative and innovative teaching, as well as its vast network of experts, academics, and international development professionals. CIFAL Philippines offers an array of capacity-building courses anchored upon the academic expertise of the University of the Philippines. Training areas:

About UNITAR & the CIFAL Global Network
The CIFAL Global Network is the network of training centers affiliated with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). It is composed of 22 centers dedicated to strengthening the capacities of governmental authorities and leaders of civil society to promote sustainable development. Each CIFAL (Centre International de Formation des Autorités et Leaders) provides innovative training on areas related to governance and sustainable development. They serve as a unique and instrumental vehicle to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration that leads to the design of innovative solutions to address current challenges. They are located across Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas, reaching to 10,000 beneficiaries through more than 100 capacity building activities every year. El Centro Internacional de Formación de Autoridades y Líderes en Filipinas (CIFAL Filipinas) fue creado en el 2016 como una colaboración entre el Instituto de las Naciones Unidas para la Formación Profesional e Investigaciones (UNITAR) y la Universidad de Filipinas (UP), con el objetivo de brindar oportunidades de capacitación a funcionarios públicos y líderes de la sociedad civil de Filipinas y Asia-Pacifico. CIFAL Filipinas ofrece capacitación en la implementación de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) a nivel local, migración, y equidad de género. A través de sus actividades de formación, investigación y sensibilización, contribuye a facilitar la colaboración y el intercambio de buenas prácticas. La UP fue seleccionada por UNITAR para ser anfitriona del Centro CIFAL Filipinas debido a su liderazgo en enseñanza integral e innovadora, así como por su vasta red de expertos, académicos, y profesionales en desarrollo internacional.
