(PAPSHI) was founded in 1998 under the auspices of the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP). Dr. Luz Revita, then the chair of the subcommittee on School-Based Programs of PAFP, was the interim chair and later elected as the first national president. A daughter society of PAFP, PAPSHI is composed of physicians who are interested in the promotion and advancement of school health in all educational institutions, public and private alike. Currently, PAPSHI is recognized as an affiliate society of both PAFP and the Philippine Medical Association (PMA).
