Our philosophy, “Becoming Like Christ,” focuses on forming Christian leaders imbued with Gospel brotherhood and Marian spirituality. Lourdes School Quezon City is owned and managed by the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins in the Philippines (OFMCap.). Established in 1955, four years after the inauguration of the Lourdes Church, the school represents a new direction in the ministry of the Capuchins, who are known as dedicated missionaries, pastors, preachers, and social workers since their first arrival in the country in 1886. The early Capuchins served as itinerant evangelists from one diocese to another. Bishops called
on the Capuchins mainly as preachers giving retreats and popular missions. The Friars labored among people, rich and poor, learned and unlearned. In the fifties, they started building schools in their parishes in Greater Manila. These are Lourdes School Quezon City and Lourdes School Mandaluyong. Since the Capuchins are men of great devotion to the Mother of God, most particularly here in
the Philippines under the title of Our Lady of Lourdes, they deemed it worthy to name the two schools in her honor and to place them under her patronage; hence, the name Lourdes School. Lourdes School Quezon City started out with just eleven well-selected lay teachers with Fr. Since then, it has emerged as one of the finer schools in Metro Manila offering preparatory, elementary, and secondary courses. To date, LSQC continues to respond to the ever-changing demands of time as it gears up for its 70th founding anniversary in 2025. The school enjoys a Level 3 PAASCU Accreditation both for its grade school and high school programs. Following the K-12 program roll out, LSQC offers STEM, ABM, GAS and HUMSS for its senior high school academic track strands. LSQC is also a member of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines or CEAP. Furthermore, LSQC has shifted to the Basic Education Department in SY 2020-2021 with the Pre-K to Grade 10 and the Senior High School as separate units.
