A few more memories from ALS2026 Day 3. 🌿

Beyond the sessions on Integrated Curriculum Design, much of the day was also spent simply being together.

Conversations started over breakfast and continued through the sessions, breaks, meals, and dinner. Friends reconnected, new friendships were formed, and there was time to share stories, pray for one another, and enjoy being part of the same learning community.

One of the activities had groups building a tower out of plastic cups. It was simple, fun, and a good test of teamwork and coordination. There was plenty of laughter along the way. 😄

We also spent time exploring Southeast Asia Bible Seminary, walking around the campus, visiting the museum, seeing more of the school, and of course taking group photos and making memories together.

These were some of the moments outside the classroom that helped make the week special. Learning happened in the sessions, but encouragement, friendship, prayer, and fellowship continued everywhere else.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:11, ESV

Grateful for the people, conversations, prayers, laughter, and memories that made Day 3 what it was.

Looking back on ALS2026 Day 2. 🌿

Not every lesson came from a slide.

Some of the moments worth remembering happened in the spaces between the sessions — conversations in breakout groups, meals shared around the table, laughter during activities, group photos, quiet moments of reflection, praying together, and voices joined in worship.

There was even a blind taste test — a simple and fun moment, but one that also brought to mind how limited our own senses and understanding can be. We do not ultimately lean on ourselves, but look to Christ and seek His wisdom.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5, ESV

Throughout the day, we were also given time to journal and reflect:
What am I grateful for?
What is one takeaway from today?
What is God asking me to keep in mind?

These quieter moments matter.

Whole-life discipleship is not only about what we know, but about how Christ shapes our hearts, our relationships, our worship, and the way we walk alongside one another.

There were smiles, stories, questions, prayers, songs of praise, and people building one another up — hearts and minds looking to God for wisdom and seeking to live according to His will.

A full day, yes. But also a beautiful reminder that formation happens together, with our eyes fixed on Christ.

We’ll spend three days thinking together about what it means to do theology in the public square, with four plenary sessions and three reflective walks around the city.

Registration is now open for the ATA Theological Consultation 2026.

From 12–14 November 2026, we will gather in Kuala Lumpur for three days of conversation on what it means to do theology in the public square. The consultation will include four focused conversations, paper presentations, and reflective walks through the city, with voices and perspectives from across Asia.

The registration fee is USD 150, covering participation and meals. Students, practitioners, faculty, and scholars are welcome.

Before the full week of sessions, workshops, and discussions unfolded, Day 1 gave participants time to arrive, reconnect, meet new colleagues, and begin conversations around theological education and holistic formation.

ALS2026 brought academic leaders and theological educators together to reflect on designing integrated curriculum for holistic formation, followed by a focused Doctoral Day addressing the future of doctoral education across Asia.

Our heartfelt thanks once again to the staff and students of Southeast Asia Bible Seminary. You welcomed us, served us, and cared for us throughout the week—and it made all the difference. Thank you also to every speaker, facilitator, participant, and partner who helped make this gathering possible.

The seminar may have concluded, but we pray that the conversations, relationships, and shared learning will continue to bear fruit in our schools, churches, and ministries across Asia.

ALS2026 Doctoral Day. 🎓

Our doctoral program leaders closed out the week today with sessions on strengthening the doctoral education ecosystem across Asia, appropriate AI use in doctoral education, resourcing scholarly research, and research supervisor training and development. A focused and strong finish.

That brings ALS2026 to a close. Our biggest thanks to the staff and students of Southeast Asia Bible Seminary. You served us, welcomed us, and loved on us all week, and it made all the difference. Thank you to our speakers and facilitators, and to every leader who came from across Asia to learn and build together. What a week in Malang. The full album is coming soon. 🙏📸
