Computer Society of the Ateneo ¤

Computer Society of the Ateneo ¤ CompSAt envisions itself as a community driven by the common belief that anyone can code.

Once upon a time in Ateneo, two organizations catered to students with a passion for Information Technology: Ateneo Society for Computer Information Interchange (ASCII), which was composed of Computer Science majors, and Ateneo Computer Society (ACS), which was formed by Management Engineering students. Time came however when the two sets of officers figured out that the organizations were similar

, if not redundant, thus bringing the Computer Society of the Ateneo (CompSAt) to life. Officially accredited by the Office of Student Activities (OSA) and a part of the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo (COA) and the Science and Technology Cluster (STC), CompSAt is the premier IT organization of the Ateneo driven to improve the quality of lives through a common passion for Information Technology. We embody this passion by learning IT through trainings and seminars and by holding competitions for high schools and universities in the metro, by using IT through rendering services to various entities such as our web development for Blue Roast, Orsem and the Sanggunian, and sharing IT through outreach programs especially for the less fortunate in collaboration with organizations inside and outside the Ateneo. As one of the organizations who spearheaded the Philippine Computing Organizations Alliance (PCOA), CompSAt has gained reputation with its excellence and was recognized last year (2009-2010) with its leaders being finalists in the COA Awards. You too can be a part of this awesomeness and with your love for IT and by getting involved in CompSAt, you would be geared towards skills development, holistic formation and service for others amidst the technological age!

It’s the last day for Core Team and Deputy applications!

Still thinking about it? Here’s the push you need. ✨ Being a CompSAt deputy is an opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience, collaborate with an amazing team, and make a meaningful impact on the community. Let’s hear from two former deputies, Calil Aceron and Zoe Uy, as they share their experiences of growth and fulfillment with CompSAt. 💜

Calil Aceron
Creatives Deputy, A.Y. 2025-2026
“Being a Creatives Deputy is a year-long commitment that gave me the opportunity to produce various publication materials alongside a team of passionate, creative, and collaborative students. I learned to collaborate with a team by coordinating with Core Team members, receiving feedback, and meeting shared deadlines. Despite these challenges, seeing my work published and appreciated reminded me that the effort behind every output is never wasted and that being part of something bigger than yourself is always worth it.”

Zoe Uy
Training Deputy, A.Y. 2025–2026
“My time as a deputy of CompSAt has taught me a deeper level of responsibility than my academic group works. I learned how to manage projects on a larger scale. This included balancing deadlines with the needs of different departments, as well as writing more professional emails and filling out forms. All of these experiences developed into skills that will be very useful in the professional field. It was, overall, a very good experience that helped me grow as a person.”

3 days left before applications close! ⏳

Being a CompSAt deputy means taking initiative and developing your leadership skills while serving the community. Let’s hear from two former deputies, Nathan Guingon and Jai Corpuz, as they share how their experiences led to meaningful journeys. 💜

Nathan Guingon
Marketing Deputy, A.Y. 2025-2026
“As the former Marketing Deputy, I remember it being a rollercoaster of emotions. There were times when I was filled with happiness and confidence, but there were also moments when I was disappointed in myself for my errors. I learned to accept mistakes, resolve them, and move on to the next challenge. To anyone aspiring to be a deputy, don’t be afraid of the learning curve. You won’t have everything figured out right away, and that’s perfectly fine.”

Jai Corpuz
Logistics Deputy, A.Y. 2025-2026
“Being a deputy is not an easy job, but it’s an honest one, and it made my 4th year in CompSAt more memorable. I was reminded to have a work-life blend because balance is unrealistic, so learning to integrate my tasks as a deputy with academics, thesis, and life made it all the more meaningful. If you think you're not up for the position, I thought the same too. But becoming a deputy might have been one of the best decisions I made in Ateneo.”

Three cheers for a job well done! 👏👏👏

Last semester, CompSAt empowered, connected, and served our members through a number of events and initiatives. The Computer Society of the Ateneo extends our heartfelt gratitude to the Core Teams who made these possible. The fond memories from Mahjong Mondays and Community Nights: Git Ready to Commit, the iconic trading cards from GeekShop: Corgeek, and the insightful takeaways from Learn-2-Dev 2026 were all possible because of you.

Your dedication and support made this semester one to remember, and we thank you for being part of CompSAt’s journey. 💙
