Carbon Dioxide isn't all that bad though !

Harvested properly, it can actually be transformed into Biogas in which when used, is environmentally friendly, renewable and does not emit any harmful gases.

HOWEVER, sequestering of biogas can sometimes spell out deforestation as it relies on biomass and other raw materials to be made.

A car can carry 2-7 people.
A jeep can carry up to 20 people whilst only taking up 2 car lengths of a road.
A bus can carry up to 38-41 people whilst only taking up 3 car lengths of a road.
And so on...

Apart from reducing traffic, the greenhouse gases emitted by humans would greatly reduce with each improvement that is seen with public transportation systems.

But what do our jeepney drivers have to say about it?

It is no mystery that the vehicles and different modes of transportation that we use on a daily basis are dominant sources of anthropogenic carbon. In fact, vehicles account for 1/5 of the world's yearly CO2 emissions (Ritchie, 2020).

Therefore, it is important to know that public transportation will always have the greatest potential in either lessening carbon emissions, or making it worse.

Let's listen to the students and staff of Ateneo to hear their experiences and struggles with the Philippines' public transportation systems.
