REGULAR HOLIDAY | 27 MAY 2026
Eid Mubarak! Let us celebrate the holiday of Muslims, Eid al-Adha, which marks the climax of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and remembers the moment where Allah intervened, providing a ram instead of sacrificing Ibrahim's son as a sacrifice. This holiday serves as the second-most important festival in the religion of Islam. It also represents Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) unwavering devotion and strength in obeying Allah, even when faced with the difficult decision of sacrificing his son.
This act of Ibrahim symbolizes faith, selflessness, and submission. Ritual sacrifice is practiced where livestock (a sheep, goat, or cow) are used; this practice does not show atonement for the sins of the many but a physical representation of letting go with our world.
