Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia

Today, we joyfully gathered for our Monthly Celebration, giving thanks for the gift of life and vocation. ❤️

We celebrated the birthdays 🎂, feast days, profession anniversaries, and ordination anniversaries of our brothers and sisters.

Through simple game, laughter, stories, and moments of sharing, we enjoyed being together and celebrating life as one ICLA family. 🥰

These simple moments remind us that community is not only about living together, but also about sharing our lives, supporting one another, and finding joy in each other’s presence.

🙏 May God continue to bless each one of our celebrants and strengthen us as we journey together as one family.

✨ MONTHLY RECOLLECTION | SEPTEMBER 2026 ✨

Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia | September 25–26, 2026

The Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia (ICLA) gathered for our September Monthly Recollection with the timely theme:

🤖 “RELIGIOUS LIFE IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE”

We were deeply enriched by the reflection of Fr. Mark Kevin R. Rendor, CMF, who invited us to pause and reflect on how technology and Artificial Intelligence are shaping our lives and our vocation as consecrated persons.

Fr. Kevin reminded us of some important points for our reflection:

📱 Protect our prayer and silence.
Technology should not take away our time for prayer, silence, reflection, and deep human connection.

🤝 Remember the vulnerable.
Behind technology are real people, including workers and children who may be vulnerable to exploitation. We are called to remain attentive to their dignity and needs.

🕊️ Use technology for good.
Our words and actions in the digital world should promote peace, friendship, compassion, and service rather than division and conflict.

May this recollection help us to use technology with wisdom and responsibility, while keeping God, human dignity, prayer, community, and service at the heart of our consecrated life.

We concluded our meaningful recollection with the celebration of Holy Mass, giving thanks to God for the gift of our vocation and for the grace to continue our journey together.

🙏 May we not allow technology to control our lives, but learn to use it wisely in the service of God and others.

📚 THESIS PROPOSAL DEFENSE 📚

Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia | September 18, 2026

Today, we rejoice with gratitude and joy as Sr. Pham Thu Thao, CMR, successfully defended her thesis proposal for the degree of Master of Arts in Theology, Major in Consecrated Life.

Her thesis is entitled:

“BECOME LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN” (Mt 18:3): A Childlike Spirituality for CMR Sisters to Live Out Evangelical Obedience More Fruitfully in Vietnam Today

We thank God for this important step in Sr. Thao’s academic and formational journey. May the Lord continue to guide and inspire her as she carries out her research and seeks to contribute to the growth and renewal of consecrated life.

Today, we rejoice with gratitude and joy as Sr. Punwilai Wongsit successfully defended her thesis proposal for the degree of Master of Arts in Theology, Major in Consecrated Life.

Her thesis is entitled:

“SALT OF THE EARTH”: EMBODYING THE IDENTITY AND MISSION OF THE SECULAR INSTITUTE OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE QUEENSHIP OF MARY IMMACULATE IN THAILAND TODAY

We are grateful for this significant step in her academic and formational journey. May this research continue to deepen the understanding of consecrated life and contribute to the identity and mission of the Daughters of the Queenship of Mary Immaculate in responding to the needs of the Church and society today.

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Fr. Edgar Javier, SVD 🕊️

Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia | September 13, 2026

Today, the ICLA community, together with our students and professors, gathered in prayer and solidarity to celebrate the Holy Mass for the eternal repose of our beloved professor, Fr. Edgar Javier, SVD.

During the homily, Fr. Samuel H. Canilang, CMF, beautifully reminded us that ICLA was also a home for Fr. Edgar. His words helped us remember that Fr. Edgar was not simply a professor at ICLA; he was a cherished member of our community and family.

Thank you, Fr. Edgar, for your dedication to teaching, your generosity in sharing your knowledge, and, above all, for sharing your life with the ICLA community. Your presence, wisdom, kindness, and service have left a lasting mark on the hearts of many.

Although you are no longer with us physically, your memory and the seeds you planted through your teaching and witness will continue to live on in the ICLA family.

🙏 May the Lord grant you eternal rest, Fr. Edgar, and may perpetual light shine upon you.

You will always have a home in the hearts of the ICLA family. 🕯️🤍
