The Research and Extension for Development Office (REDO), College of Social Work and Community Development (CSWCD), University of the Philippines Diliman, invites social development professionals, social workers, development practitioners, NGO and CSO personnel, government workers, researchers, and community development advocates to join the Training on Participatory Project Development and Management on August 26โ28, 2026 at Bulwagang Tandang Sora, CSWCD, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
Development projects are most effective when they are grounded in the realities, capacities, and aspirations of the people they serve. This three-day face-to-face training will enhance participants' knowledge and skills in participatory approaches to project development and management, emphasizing stakeholder engagement, community participation, collaborative decision-making, and sustainable project implementation.

The INSPIRE Series aims to align unit-level operations and responsibilities with UPโs mandate and optimize existing frameworks such as SPMS, PBMS, ARTA, and ISO into a unified Strategic Governance System (SGS).
The INSPIRE Series has three parts:
๐๐๐ซ๐ญ ๐: โAligning Purposeโ focused on discussions about โWhere do we want to go?โ, โWhere are we now?โ and โHow do we get there?โ
๐๐๐ซ๐ญ ๐:โStrengthening Systemsโ focused on the preparation and presentation of Three-Year Strategic Plans of Units
๐๐๐ซ๐ญ ๐:โAdvancing Qualityโ will focus on sharing best practices in Strategic Planning for academic and administrative units and recognition of outstanding outputs.
Last July 27-28, 2026, INSPIRE Series Part 2, held at GT Toyota Auditorium and Malcolm Theater consecutively, CSWCD was represented by the College Dean, Prof. Justin Francis Leon V. Nicolas, the College Secretary, Asst. Prof. Florence F. Pasos, the College Quality Assurance Officer (CQAO), Asst. Prof. Glennie Marie Sina-on Jazmin, and OIC-Chairperson for Department of Social Work, Asst. Prof. Ana Teresa L. Prondosa.
The College Secretary, Asst. Prof. Pasos, served as a panel member and facilitator for Breakout Group 4 which consisted of the OVCA, OVCRD and Social Sciences and the Law Cluster while the College Quality Assurance Officer, Asst. Prof. Sina-on Jazmin, presented the Three-Year Strategic Plan of CSWCD which is a draft consolidation of results from the Department-level Strategic Planning workshops conducted from April to May 2026 and College-level Strategic Planning workshops conducted last June 19 and 22, 2026.
With Dean Nicolas at the forefront, the draft CSWCD Plan for 2027-2029 shall be discussed with all CSWCD constituents to ensure genuine participatory process.

More than 50 CSWCD alumni, with their family and friends, joined the Palarong Alumni held on 19 July 2026 at the Bulwagang Tandang Sora and the College of Human Kinetics. The one-day event featured yoga, basketball, badminton, pickleball, and volleyball. The Palaro gathered alumni from various batches to enjoy the fun-filled activities and reconnect through sports.

This introductory course covers the fundamental concepts, principles, values, and approaches of community organizing, with practical tools for each phase of the organizing process and a focus on peopleโs empowerment and power dynamics affecting marginalized sectors.
