Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. was known for his fearlessness and commitment to democracy in the face of authoritarian government. His death became a significant turning point, igniting a large-scale public outcry that ultimately caused the People Power Revolution and the overthrow of the Marcos Regime.

Ninoy Aquino Day is a holiday observed on August 21st in the Philippines in honor of his bravery. This year, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. moved the observance to Friday, August 23, through Proclamation No. 665.

May we carry forward his legacy by standing firm in the face of adversity and working together to build a better, more just society for all Filipinos. 🇵🇭
