The Piano Department will be having a masterclass this December 5, 2025 10AM-3:30PM. It is to be held at Recital Hall 1, Albertus Magnus Building. We hope to see you there!

This is open for students, faculty, and staff of the UST Conservatory of Music.

For outsiders who are interested to watch, they may scan the QR code on the poster to fill up a form to be included in the guest list.

Deadline of the forms will be December 1, 2025 5PM.

Albert Tiu is a Filipino concert pianist known for being called “an artist of uncommon abilities” by American Record Guide. Tiu is currently is a Professor and also Head of Piano Studies at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore. A graduate of the Juilliard School where he studied with Jerome Lowenthal, Michael Lewin at the Boston Conservatory, as well as Nita Abrogar-Quinto and Nelly Castro in the Philippines. He has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. He is also recognized for his creative recital programming, such as thematic and composer-focused concerts.

The UST Piano Department would like to congratulate our Freshman Representative, Lijun Villanueva, for being awarded 1st Prize of Category B2 of this year's PTGPFI Echoes of Bach 2025!

Lijun has just entered her first year in the conservatory and is under the tutelage of Ms. Mariel Ilusorio.
