The AIT Student Council hereby releases the ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐š๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ for the AITSC Special Appointments 2026โ€“2027.

The individuals listed below have successfully submitted the required documents and have been deemed eligible to proceed to the screening and deliberation process to be conducted by the AIT Student Council. This list shall serve as the official list of applicants for the Special Appointments process, subject to any valid protest filed within the prescribed period.

As we continue the process of filling the Council's remaining vacant positions, we encourage all Tagapagtaguyod ng Turismo to stay informed and engaged. Every step toward a stronger AIT community begins with students who choose to take part in its future.

DALAWANG BUWAN NA MULA NANG PASLANGIN ANG TOBOSO 19.

Kasama ng buong komunidad ng UP at ng sambayanang Pilipino, nakikiisa ang Asian Institute of Tourism Student Council sa panawagan para sa hustisya para kay Alyssa Alano at sa lahat ng biktima ng Toboso 19.

Dalawang buwan matapos ang masaker sa Toboso, Negros Occidental, nananatiling walang pananagutan ang mga responsable sa pagpaslang sa 19 na indibidwal. Habang patuloy ang militarisasyon at mga pag-atake sa mga komunidad ng magsasaka, patuloy rin nating ipinapanawagan ang hustisya, pananagutan, at paggalang sa karapatang pantao at International Humanitarian Law.

Hindi namin malilimutan sina Alyssa at ang iba pang biktima ng Toboso 19.

During the AITSC General Assembly, the Council discussed updates and developments across Womenโ€™s Month initiatives, batch and committee reports, university-wide updates, and upcoming institutional projects. Key highlights included the rescheduling and refinement of Womenโ€™s Month activities, positive feedback on visibility and coordination of initiatives, and continued alignment of promotional efforts across committees.

The Council also tackled internal updates such as practicum and academic coordination, COCA-related activities, merchandise planning, and financial and logistical matters. During the AITSC General Assembly, the Council reviewed the implementation and outcomes of key projects, including AIT Sportsfest 2026, ArteFacts, Lenteng Pinoy, Frame by Frame: 50 Years of AIT, Love, Life: Holding Space for the Heart and Mind, MarkAIT! MarkAIT! & Anik-Anik Fair 2026, and Sintala: Pailaw 2026. The discussion highlighted both successful ex*****ons and key areas for improvement such as earlier scheduling and coordination, improved task delegation, stronger participation and engagement, better logistical preparation, and enhanced visibility of materials and activities.

The Council also discussed upcoming and rescheduled initiatives, including Eco-Fashion Show (Cancelled), Handog ng Linangan (Rescheduled), Sablay 2026 coordination, EducAIT planning, and Womenโ€™s Month initiatives. Noong Hunyo 12, 1898, idineklara ang ating kalayaan na bunga ng dugo, pawis, at tapang ng mga rebolusyonaryong Pilipino. Hindi nila hiningi ang kalayaan. Ipinaglaban nila itoโ€”ipinaglaban nila nang may pagkakaisa. Ngunit malinaw din na hindi natatapos sa pagwagayway ng watawat ang tunay na kalayaan.

Sa kabila ng pormal na deklarasyon ng kalayaan, hindi natin lubos na naranasan ang tunay na kasarinlan. Mula sa pananakop hanggang sa kasalukuyan, nananatiling nakapailalim ang ating ekonomiya at iba pang mahahalagang sektor sa impluwensya at dikta ng imperyalistang Estados Unidos. Sa ilalim ng mga polisiyang nagpapahintulot sa malayang pagpasok ng dayuhang kapital at kontrol sa ating likas-yaman, unti-unting nailalayo ang kapangyarihan sa kamay ng sambayanan. Ang mga administrasyong pumapayag at nagtataguyod ng ganitong kaayusan ay nagbubukas ng ating industriya sa interes ng dayuhan kaysa sa pambansang kaunlaran. Sa ganitong kalagayan, paano natin masasabing tunay ang ating kalayaan kung ang direksyon ng ating ekonomiya at patakaran ay hinuhubog ng panlabas na kapangyarihan at hindi ng kolektibong interes ng mamamayang Pilipino?

Walang saysay ang soberanya kung marami pa ring Pilipino ang lugmok sa kahirapan, kung ang manggagawaโ€™y kapos pa rin ang sahod, kung ang mga magsasakaโ€™y walang lupa, kung ang kabataan ay nalilimitahan ang akses sa dekalidad na edukasyon at seguridad. Anong klaseng kalayaan ang meron tayo kung tumataas ang presyo ng bilihin pero hindi ang sahod? Kung ang edukasyon ay nagiging pribilehiyo imbes na karapatan? Kung laganap ang kontraktwalisasyon at walang seguridad sa trabaho? Kung tinatakot ang mga kritiko at sinisikil ang espasyo para sa malayang talakayan?

Ang kasaysayan mismo ang nagsasabi: malaki ang papel ng kabataan at ng mga estudyante sa paghubog ng pambansang diskurso. Sa bawat yugto ng krisis, naroon ang tinig ng kabataanโ€”mapanuri at matapang. Bilang mga Iskolar ng Bayan, dala natin ang tradisyon ng paglilingkod sa bayan. Hindi tayo pinalaki ng pamantasan para maging tahimik sa harap ng mali. Sa panahon ng kawalang-katarungan, hindi makatuwirang gawi ang pananahimik. Nararapat tayong maging kritikal at makilahok, dahil ang mga ito ay makabayang tungkulin.

Dapat manatiling espasyo ang akademya para sa katotohanan, diskurso, at prinsipyadong pagtutol. Ang kabataan ay hindi lang โ€œmga lider ng bukas.โ€ Tayo ay mga aktor ng kasalukuyan. Ang laban sa mataas na matrikula, para sa academic freedom, at para sa tunay na representasyon ay konektado sa mas malawak na laban ng sambayanan. Kapag ipinagtatanggol natin ang karapatan ng sangkaestudyantehan, ipinagtatanggol din natin ang karapatan ng manggagawa, magsasaka, katutubo, at iba pang nasa laylayan, sapagkat isang mahalagang plataporma ng pagpapaigting ng mga panawagan ang edukasyon.

Ang paggunita sa Araw ng Kalayaan ay walang saysay kung hindi ito hahantong sa paninindigan. Kaya, hinihikayat ng UP AIT Student Council ang bawat estudyante na maging mapanuri, makialam, at makilahokโ€”sa diskurso, sa pananaliksik, sa komunidad, at sa adbokasiya. Hindi sapat ang mag-aral lang para sa sarili; mag-aral tayo para sa lipunan.

Naninindigan din kaming ipagtanggol ang karapatan at kapakanan ng mga estudyante sa pamamagitan ng inklusibong pamamahala, malayang dayalogo, at pamumunong may prinsipyo.
