The NAMCYA Music Camp is a comprehensive training program designed to nurture young artists by providing specialized instruction across various musical disciplines. The camp aims to develop participants’ technical skills, artistry, and excellence as Filipino musicians.
We invite all interested musicians, educators, and students to take part and explore the learning opportunities offered in our Music Camp. TRAININGS OFFERED:
🔸CHOIR focuses on vocal technique, ensemble singing, and choral interpretation. Participants are group or individual and will be trained in proper breathing, tone production, blending, and musicality while engaging in group performances.
🔸MUSIC EDUCATION Designed to equip teachers with foundational knowledge in pedagogy and musicianship, aligned with the principles of the MATATAG Curriculum of the DepEd. Emphasis is placed on culturally responsive teaching that connects music learning to learners’ identities, communities, and lived experiences, preparing participants to become effective, inclusive, and responsive music educators.
🔸TRADITIONAL MUSIC Explores the richness of Philippine musical heritage through indigenous and folk traditions, while encouraging innovative practices that reimagine these elements in contemporary settings, including the incorporation of traditional instruments and styles with modern and popular music.
🔸STRINGS provides focused instruction for string instrumentalists, including violin, viola, cello, and double bass. It emphasizes proper technique, tone production, and ensemble playing, allowing participants to refine their skills through group sessions.
🔸RONDALLA centers on the study and performance of plucked string instruments such as the bandurria, laud, octavina, guitar, and bass. Participants are group or individual players and will develop coordination, rhythmic precision, and ensemble cohesion.
