Our Lady of Montserrat, pray for us! 🙏

we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Montserrat in Catalonia, Spain

Venerated at the historic Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, Our Lady of Montserrat, affectionately known as La Moreneta, has been a cherished symbol of faith and devotion for centuries. This ancient Romanesque image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, seated with the Child Jesus, draws countless pilgrims who seek her intercession and maternal care.

Let us pray:
+Oh, Merciful Mother, heart of love, heart of compassion who always listens to and comforts us; heed our pleas. As your children, we implore your mediation before your Son Jesus. Receive with pity and compassion… (at this moment the request is made). How joyful to know that your heart is always ready for those who supplicate to you! We entrust to your merciful care and mediation our loved ones and all who feel sick, lonely, or hurt. Help us, loving Mother, to bear our burdens in this life until we reach eternal glory and peace with God. Amen.

Our Lady of Montserrat,
Pray for us!

This International Women’s Day, thebarrister stands in recognition of the strength, brilliance, and genius of women.

Across generations and professions our Filipino women continue to lead and transform society. From homes to halls of power, from classrooms to courtrooms, they claim spaces once denied to them and shape a future defined by excellence, perseverance, and progress.

Consequently, the observance of International Women’s day is not only a cultural celebration. It is also anchored in legal bases that recognize and affirm the vital role of women in Philippine society:

• Proclamation No. 224 (1988) – Declaring the first week of March as Women’s Week

• Proclamation No. 227 (1988) – Providing for the observance of March as Women’s Role in History Month

• Republic Act No. 6949 (1990) – Declaring March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day

Today and every day, we celebrate women who lead, uplift, and redefine what is possible.

Happy National Women’s Month. Abante babae! 🌸
