Base sa latest Air Quality Index (AQI), nagtala ng Very Unhealthy at Acutely Unhealthy ang mga air quality sensors ng lungsod. Sa kasalukuyan, may 68 air sensors na nakapwesto sa iba-ibang bahagi ng lungsod.

Sa ganitong antas ng air pollution, maaaring magkaroon ng ubo, pangangati ng airways, at hirap sa paghinga, lalo na sa mga taong may asthma o iba pang respiratory conditions.

Batay sa kasalukuyang assessment, ang pagtaas ng air pollution sa ilang bahagi ng bansa, kabilang ang National Capital Region, ay posibleng may kaugnayan sa smoke o haze mula sa mga nagaganap na sunog sa Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Ang suspensyon ng klase sa PRIVATE SCHOOLS at HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS ay nakabatay sa desisyon ng pamunuan ng paaralan. Gayunpaman, para sa kaligtasan ng mga g**o at mag-aaral, hinihikayat ang pagsunod sa national o localized suspension.
