Last May 2025, the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy Ethics Review Board (CSSP-ERB) was recognized with the Galing Award para sa Pinakamahusay na Yunit/Pangkat, conferred by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Administration.
This award is a recognition of our efforts to strengthen and streamline the ethics review process in the college. Over the years, we have worked to improve the delivery of our services by reducing turnaround time, providing clearer guidelines for researchers, updating our tracking systems, and ensuring that the review process is participatory, inclusive, and grounded in ethical rigor.
We thank our dear panel chairs, reviewers, community members, administrative support staff, and, most importantly, the researchers who continually engage with the ethics review process with openness, thoughtfulness, and commitment to academic excellence.
This recognition is proof of our shared dedication to ethical research and academic integrity. May we continue to uphold the highest standards of ethics and contribute to the production of knowledge that truly serves the people.

Assoc. Prof. Diwa Malaya Quiรฑones has been instrumental in the establishment of the Ethics Review Board of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophyโto say the least. After years of tirelessly guiding the ERB, today marks our first day without him at the helm.
As bittersweet as it may be, we take this time to express our gratefulness and appreciation for all your efforts to uphold and advocate for the ethical conduct of social science research not only in our college but also beyond. Filling in the space you have left behind will be a challengeโbut it is one we will gladly take on in the pursuit of good quality social science research designed with respect and service for people in mind.
It was an honor to have worked with you. We wish you success and good health on your future endeavors.
Muli, maraming salamat po sa pagtataguyod ng ating ERB.

Designing ethical research starts with recognition that participants are not just subjects. Theyโre active collaborators ๐ค and as researchers, we do our best to make sure the benefits outweigh โ the risks because what our participants think, feel, and need matters just as much as ours do ๐ซถ.
But how do we ensure that our participants and their communities truly benefit, especially in social science research ๐ค? Swipe through each panel to learn more.
