Ang Konseho ng Mag-aaral ng Kolehiyo ng Arte at Literatura (KM-KAL) ang opisyal na kinatawan ng mga Artista ng Bayan ng KAL. Layunin nitong patampukin ang mga kampanya ng kolehiyo, ng mga kapwa kabataan-estudyante, at ng iba't ibang sektor ng unibersidad, kasabay ng pagsulong at pagtataguyod ng militanteng tr

The CALSC Grievance Form 3.0 is now open for the entire A.Y. 2026-2027 to accept the following:

📍Students' grievances against a certain person and/or office
📍Comments and/or suggestions to the CALSC and/or CAL administration
📍Other inquiries or concerns

All submitted entries in the form shall formally be addressed with due process, with the Students Rights and Welfare Committee (STRAW) being at the forefront in handling the matters raised.

HANDS OFF UP DILIMAN PUBLICATIONS! DEFEND CAMPUS PRESS FREEDOM!

Nakikiisa ang UP Diliman University Student Council (UPD USC) at ang League of College Councils (LCC) sa panawagan ng UP Solidaridad at mga publikasyon ng UP Diliman sa paggiit ng kanilang batayang karapatan sa malayang pamamahayag.

Isang tuwirang pagyurak sa karapatan ng mga publikasyon ang anumang pagtatangkang manghimasok sa kanilang kalayaan sa pamamahayag, sapagkat tungkulin nilang maghatid ng kritikal at pampublikong impormasyon sa mga mag-aaral at sa buong komunidad. Malinaw na ginamit ang banta ng legal na pananagutan, maging sa administrasyon man ng UP o sa ligal na aspeto, upang tapakan ang karapatan ng mga publikasyon. Ang mga naunang ulat hinggil sa kaso ng dating College of Arts and Letters Representative to the University Student Council na si Jobert Pillas ay nakabatay sa mga impormasyong maipapaabot sa publiko sa panahon ng kanilang paglalathala, at isinagawa sa prinsipyo ng mabuting hangarin.

Hindi dapat basta-bastang pinapalampas ang anumang porma ng pagpapatahimik, pag-iintimida, o pananakot sa midya. Hindi rin dapat pinahihintulutan ang anumang porma ng interbensiyon mula sa Office of Student Projects and Activities (OSPA), Diliman Legal Office (DLO), o ng kampo ni Pillas na tumataliwas sa kalayaan ng mga publikasyon sa UP Diliman, tulad na lamang ng SINAG at Kalasag, na mag-ulat. Ang pagpapasya sa nilalaman ng anumang ulat at ang karampatang paglilinaw rito ay tanging sa pamunuan at kasapi lamang ng mga publikasyon dapat nakasalalay; malaya sa dikta, banta, o panghihimasok ng administrasyon o alinmang panig.

Sa harap ng mga banta sa awtonomiya ng ating mga publikasyon, buong-tatag na naninindigan ang mga konseho ng UP Diliman para sa pagtataguyod ng batayang karapatan sa malayang pamamahayag.

[CALSC ‘26-‘27 Oath Taking] 📄✋

Today (September 7, 2026), in which the college’s monthly flag ceremony was also held, Dean Jimmuel Naval presided over the Oath-taking Ceremony of the College of Arts and Letters Student Council in PAV 1131 before the college’s holy mass. The CALSC Office was also included in the holy mass’ blessing.

Mga Artista ng Bayan, the CALSC ‘26-‘27 vows to serve with its utmost capacity and integrity.

HANDS OFF UP DILIMAN PUBLICATIONS! DEFEND CAMPUS PRESS FREEDOM!

TW: Mention of r**e case

UP Solidaridad, the broadest alliance of student publications and writers’ organizations in the University of the Philippines (UP), calls out and condemns the administrative and external intervention against UP Diliman publications, following their reportage on the suspension, expulsion, and r**e case involving former College of Arts and Letters Representative to the University Student Council Jobert Pillas.

At stake is the fundamental right of the campus press to report freely and exercise independent editorial judgment without administrative intimidation or threats of legal consequences.

UP Solidaridad and its member publications and writers’ organizations condemn the administrative and external intervention against UP Diliman publications. We call on OSPA, DLO, and Pillas’ party to cease all forms of pressure against the campus press, respect the editorial independence of Philippine Collegian, Kalasag, Sinag, Tinig ng Plaridel, and all UP Diliman student publications, and uphold their right to report critically and freely.

ARTISTA NG BAYAN, TULOY-TULOY ANG LABAN! ✊🏽

Ngayong Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani, pinagpupugayan natin ang mga martir at rebolusyonaryong nag-alay ng dugo, pawis, at buhay upang lagutin ang tanikala na gumagapos sa ating inang bayan. Mula kay Rizal na lumikha ng panitikan hanggang kay Bonifacio na piniling tumangan ng armas, kinikilala ng Konseho ng Mag-aaral ng Kolehiyo ng Arte at Literatura ang iba’t ibang porma ng pakikibaka para sa sambayanan.

Kasalukuyan nating ipinagdiriwang ang Araw ng mga Bayani sapagkat ang mga tunay na bayani ng sambayanan— ang mga manggagawa at magsasakang kumakayod upang matamasa natin ang mga serbisyong pang-araw-araw at ang bigas na nagpapakain sa lahat ng pamilyang Pilipino— ay patuloy na lubog sa baha, nanganganib ang hanapbuhay, at patuloy na binabarat ang sahod. Sa panahon ng pagkakasalanta, mga huwad na flood control projects, at ngayon naman, ang Pax Silica na siyang kakamkam ng lupang sakahan at kabahayan, lalong nilulunod sa kahirapan ang mga bayaning patuloy na ipinaglalaban ang kapakanan ng mga mamamayang Pilipino. Ganito ba ang nararapat para sa mga tunay na bayani ng sambayanan?

Sa patuloy na pamamasista ng estado at panghihimasok ng mga imperyalistang puwersa, higit na buhay ang diwa ng militanteng pakikibaka. Hangga't nananatiling huwad ang kalayaan, patuloy na mag-aanak ang Kolehiyo ng Arte at Literatura ng mga lalaban para sa lupa, sahod, trabaho, edukasyon, at karapatan. Patuloy na bibitbitin ang mga kampanya na mula sa at tungo sa masa. Dahil ang sining ay hindi lang palamuti. Ang sining ay lagi’t laging malaya at mapagpalaya. 🎭🎨✍️

[CAL AKWE: ACQUAINTANCE DAY] 🚀🧑‍🚀

Naglunsad ang konseho ng CAL AKWE: Acquaintance Day kahapon, Setyembre 2 (Martes), upang bigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga Artista ng Bayan na makilala ang kanilang kapwa mag-aaral sa loob ng kolehiyo. Nagsilbi ring daan ang proyekto upang maglahad ang mga mag-aaral ng kani-kanilang saloobin, lalo na patungkol sa mga isyu na kinakaharap ng kolehiyo, at mungkahi sa konseho't administrasyon.

Layunin ng isinagawang proyekto ang mas pagbukludin ang kabuuan ng komunidad ng KAL at palakasin ang pakikilahok ng mga mag-aaral sa mga panawagan ng kolehiyo. Nawa'y maging palatandaan ang CAL AKWE na sa kabila ng kakulangan ng espasyo ay hindi dapat tumigil ang mga Artista ng Bayan na lumahok, lumikha, tumindig. 🌟✊🏽

Kaya naman, lubos na pinasasalamatan ng konseho ang mga mag-aaral na dumalo at nag-"Take Space". 🧑‍🚀 Hanggang sa muli! 👋🏽🛸

[CALSC ‘26-‘27 APPOINTMENT DELIBERATIONS] 📁

💼 Muling matagumpay na isinagaw ang appointment deliberations kahapon, 01 Setyembre, 5:00 PM sa CNB Room 201, kasama ang mga kandidato, CALSC officers, at ang student body. Katulad ng kinagisnan mula sa mga nagdaang Appointment Deliberations, inilahad ng mga kandidato ang kanilang plans of actions at dumaan sa paglilitis.

Nagkaroon ng masinsin at mapanuring deliberasyon ang CALSC hinggil sa mga tumakbong kandidato. Pagkatapos ng deliberasyon, nagkaroon ng voting ang elected officers para sa paghirang ng mga kandidato bilang DFPP Rep, konsehal, at CAL Rep. to the USC sa CALSC Cycle 2026-2027.
