AMA University Student Council

As President of the Student Council S.Y. 2023-2024, this is what it means to be the Voice of the Student body and how things should be.

We, the students, completer, and payer of AMA University respectfully petition the university’s administration and owner to implement fair recognition of academic excellence and to improve the graduation system.

Currently, AMA University does not grant Latin honors to students who meet the criteria for such distinctions. These honors are widely recognized in higher education as a measure of academic excellence and as a source of pride and motivation for students. Denying this recognition undermines the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of many deserving graduates.

In addition, many students and families have expressed concerns regarding the organization and transparency of graduation ceremonies. Graduation day should be a moment of celebration, yet it is often marked by inefficiencies, delays, and unclear processes.

We therefore urge AMA University to take the following actions:

1. Reinstate the awarding of Latin honors to qualified graduates who meet academic requirements.

2. Implement a fair and transparent system to ensure that all deserving students are properly recognized.

3. Improve the organization of graduation ceremonies, ensuring they reflect the dignity and significance of this milestone for students and their families.

Recognizing academic achievement and providing a well-organized graduation ceremony are essential to honoring the efforts of students and upholding the reputation of the institution.

We call upon the AMA University administration and ownership to listen to the concerns of its community and take immediate steps toward fairness, transparency, and excellence.

Students earned their honors—AMA University must give them the recognition they deserve. Honor excellence, honor your students—bring back Latin honors at AMA University.

Merry Christmas AMA-ers

With what uncle Ben said from the Movie, Spiderman. “With Great power comes with Great responsibility.” This was the notion that has been left with us from the Day that we are officially elected as the Student Council of AMA University.

The Journey was a real rollercoaster, we always had our ups and downs and have learned a lot from it. From speaking to each of the faculty, deans, heads, admins, and some officers from the head office. One thing I can really tell is that this responsibility has never been easy and continuously gave me a reason to stand as the President and guide my fellow Council along the way. from my Vice President who always tend to be late and even not attend the meetings, he always manages to be there. our secretary, who is the mastermind of all the Publication materials together with the AMA University Cyberverse, always deliver quality information and pictures every event, keeping everyone intact and updated, the P.R.O.s who never fail to give contact of speakers in every seminar and every events that there is, especially the Councilors from each Department, who never let an information be missed by any of the students that they are handling with, and the rest who have helped inside the council. Inside the council, I may not be the very best at handling situations on giving out best Instructions, I may be strict, I may be very sharp with my words, but that didn’t hold back my council to not give their best at any task we may do altogether. And on the Outside as the Student Council president, I always strive to give out the Assistance my Fellow Students as well, I never made them feel that I am above them nor that they should give me respect for my authority, hence I have formed bonds with them just like a regular student, sometimes hear out their suggestions for our future projects, hear them out if they are encountering problem within the school. I Always strive to give the Student Council a fresher and much more approachable.

I wouldn’t be able to give the best I can without the guidance of the Head of Office of Student Affairs, Ms. Carmencita Rabano She had been our Guide, Our mentor, even our mother. She continuously guided us into what we are today, letting us explore and honed us to be better leaders as well. The never ending advice , every problem, every issue, every downfall of the Student Council, she was there to keep us from falling apart. And every Event that we were able to conduct, she was giving us her 100% support, letting us decide, and do the things we are asked to. And up until the end of our term, she never made us feel like she left us and still was there to give us advice not just in school, but in life as well.

I would also like to thank the Basic Education and SHS Department, for all the support they gave us, given that some of the events we cater are designated to be for the college students, they have never turned down my offer to include them in some of our events. And also to the college Faculty from the IT Department up til the Engineering Department, I would like to extend my gratitude to some of the Faculty members, especially to those who have helped us encourage the students to join our events. We wouldn’t have done without your help.

And lastly to finish this off, I would like to thank my fellow students for their unending support to the Student Council, attending each of our events, seminars, and parties as well, do know that from the very first day that we have seated in our places, one of our prior Objectives, is to give the students the quality School Year they will have with us being there to listen and help them get through their college life. This has been an amazing opportunity for me, Your President, to not just lead, but serve each one of you. And even after our term, we will still be here to help you out with your concern and it has been Fun and a Roller Coaster ride, and I would be very thankful to have served each and every one of you, I wish goodluck to all the students, and to the next batch of Student council.
