Making Meaning Series

The Making Meaning series for English Communication Arts and Skills integrates language and grammar with literary appreciation. Where appropriate, the selections (stories, essays, and poems) have been used to illustrate specific language and communication skills and learning competencies set by the Department of Education for all the year levels. Each chapter, lesson, story, or literary work is complemented by workshop exercises meant not just to test and reinforce the students’ understanding of each lesson, but to encourage them to think creatively, use their imagination, test ideas and concepts, and create their own.

Science Laboratory Manuals

Learning, particularly in Science, goes beyond reading textbooks. Learning strongly encourages the application of knowledge culled from such readings. This is why the Science & Technology textbook series is complemented by Science Laboratory Manuals that aim to provide the mental stimulation and skills development through the reinforcement and application of concepts learned. They will prove useful in classroom settings and in addressing real-life problems.

Hypermath Series

Pupils learn mathematics best by direct instruction and by doing. Learning mathematics can also be made easy and fun by providing enjoyable math experiences to pupils.

The Hypermath (Revised Edition) elementary worktext series should help pupils enjoy learning mathematical concepts and skills, as well as apply them in everyday life.

Each book is divided into several chapters, with each chapter further broken down into several lessons to make understanding of concepts possible without overwhelming the learners.

Several activities accompany each lesson to test the comprehension of the learners, as well as reinforce learning. The sections Practice and Problem Solving provide exercises directly related to the current lesson. Links contains activities that enable pupils to make connections between math and other learning areas relevant to the children’s age and interests. Math Craft includes activities that help sharpen math skills using mazes, puzzles, tangrams, and the like. Enrichment provides activities that integrate the concepts and skills learned in the lesson. Thinking Pad summarizes the key concepts and skills in each lesson.

At the end of each chapter are the Chapter Test and the Pupil’s Performance Task Sheet. These are provided to evaluate the learner’s understanding of concepts and mastery of skills. The rating sheet is sent to parents to apprise them of their children’s performance and progress in learning math.

All the textbooks in Hypermath (Revised Edition) elementary worktext series are aligned with the Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) prescribed by the Department of Education.
