Since the signing of the Bangkok Declaration on 8 August 1967, ASEAN has grown from five founding nations into a community of 11 Member States—bringing together diverse peoples, cultures, and aspirations across Southeast Asia.

SEAMEO INNOTECH joins the region in celebrating the partnerships and shared commitment that continue to bring Southeast Asia closer together. Regional cooperation is also central to the Centre’s mandate and work across Southeast Asia.

This ASEAN Day, we celebrate not only how far our region has come, but the possibilities we can build together—for our people, our communities, and our shared future.

📸 Advancing the conversation on education, innovation, and resilience.

SEAMEO INNOTECH joined education leaders, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners at the Thailand International Conference on Education Research (ThaiCER 2026), held on 6–7 August 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, under the theme “Resilient Future: Building Adaptive, Equitable, and Sustainable Education.”

Representing the Centre, Dr. Majah-Leah V. Ravago, SEAMEO INNOTECH Centre Director, participated as a Keynote Speaker and delivered her presentation, “Education in the Age of AI: Innovation for Resilience, Equity, and Sustainability.” Her participation placed INNOTECH in an important dialogue on the intersections of education, artificial intelligence, innovation, resilience, and equity.

Through engagements such as ThaiCER 2026, SEAMEO INNOTECH continues to contribute to regional conversations that explore how education can respond to emerging challenges and opportunities while building more resilient and future-ready systems.

📖 Career Development for Children (CD4C) in Philippine Elementary Schools

Career development does not begin when learners choose a career path. It begins much earlier, as children develop self-awareness, explore the world of work, and begin imagining what they can become. Strengthening these foundations during the early years can help broaden aspirations, build confidence, and support more informed decisions in the future.

Based on insights from 4,007 elementary-level guidance implementers across the Philippines, DP 2026-12: Career Development for Children (CD4C) in Philippine Elementary Schools examines how schools support career awareness among Kindergarten to Grade 3 learners. The study highlights current practices, identifies key implementation challenges, and offers evidence-based recommendations for strengthening career development in the early years.
