What does an AI-powered classroom look like in real life?โจ
For SEAMEO INNOTECHโs Learning Coaches, the future of education came to life during their visit to the Affiliated Experimental Elementary School of the University of Taipei (ESUT)โone of the seven institutional visits under the 10th Learning Coaches Capacity Building and Certification Course, held on April 27โMay 1, 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Featured by HABOOK, the visit gave participants a firsthand look at how Taiwan is transforming classrooms through AI-enabled and data-driven learning. From smart teaching platforms like TEAM Model and HiTeach to interactive โ1-to-1 tabletโ learning environments, educators witnessed how technology can make classrooms more engaging, collaborative, and learner-centered.
One of the highlights was an AI-supported bilingual Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) class, where students actively shared ideas while AI tools generated real-time summaries, mind maps, and insights that helped teachers better support learning and student engagement. The delegation also explored how AI-powered lesson observation tools are helping educators turn classroom experiences into more focused, data-informed teaching decisions.
Facilitated by INNOTECH through Marvin Dominic B. Buena and Michelle Sarabillo, the learning journey encouraged participants to reflect on how these innovative practices can be adapted to strengthen teaching and learning in their own contexts.
Through initiatives like this, SEAMEO INNOTECH continues to empower Learning Coaches to champion innovation, collaboration, and transformative education across Southeast Asiaโone smart classroom at a time. ๐ก
