The afternoon festivities of the Daop-Palad 2026 kicked off with high energy on the grounds of Saint Luigi Orione Seminary as students gathered, chanting their cheers and showcasing their vibrant school spirit. Following a short performance, the participants proudly carried the flame to light the main cauldron—symbolizing the official opening of the afternoon events.

With the Daop-Palad cauldron burning brightly, the excitement shifted inside the gymnasium. Participants took to the floor to showcase their best dance moves, energized and led by the talented Claret Groovers!

To highlight the importance of human dignity amidst the prevalent era of Artificial Intelligence, Rev. Fr. Angelito Ancla, CMF, gave a talk about the theme of the event, connecting it to the encyclical of Pope Leo XIV, Magnifica Humanitas. In his talk, he said that unlike artificial intelligence, human life is physical, relational, and grounded in lived experience, which makes true human connection irreplaceable by technology. This choice puts humanity at a crossroads: either building a self-serving digital "Tower of Babel" or creating a community where God and people dwell together. This reinforces the theme—"Diverse Paths, One Call: A Mission of Fraternity"—by showing how technology must support, not replace, our shared mission of authentic human fellowship.

In seminary formation, he stresses the need for future ministers to prioritize pastoral empathy and genuine presence over digital efficiency.

Question for Reflection and Group Sharing:
"With the growing use of AI and technology in ministry, how can we, as future priests, religious, and missionaries, ensure that technology remains a tool for service and never replaces the human presence, personal accompaniment, and loving relationships through which people encounter Christ?"

The opening ceremony commenced with a prayer led by the Coro Claretiano. Rev. Fr. Le Duc Tho, CMF, then delivered a warm welcome address, inviting all participants to engage in the day’s activities in the true spirit of fraternity, sportsmanship, and peace.

Following his opening message, the seminarians of Saint Anthony Mary Claret Seminary delivered a gripping and thought-provoking cultural presentation exposing the systemic corruption and deep-seated injustices in the Philippines. Spanning historical oppressions to the harsh realities of the present day, their performance served as an urgent rallying cry: to refuse complacency and stand bravely against evil in our society. With raw passion and gritty conviction, the performers brought these stark realities to life, stirring the hearts of everyone present.

To cap off this powerful moment, the echoes of Lupang Hinirang filled the air, as the community sang the national anthem with renewed pride, unity, and purpose.

One in heart and mind, the community gathered in prayer and reflection to celebrate the Most Holy Eucharist following the Holy Rosary.

The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Le Duc Tho, CMF. In a moving homily, Rev. Fr. Kevin Rendor, CMF, reminded the congregation that while each person walks a unique path, it is the same Christ who calls us all. He encouraged everyone, especially the seminarians, to continue cultivating their individual gifts, which serve as vital instruments for the success of their respective congregations' missions. Addressing the event's central theme, Fr. Kevin emphasized that in the era of Artificial Intelligence, we are called to be masters of technology—never its slaves—and reminded the students that the Church always deserves our very best.

Following the homily, Rev. Fr. Angelito Ancla, CMF, administered the solemn oath to the newly elected Claretian College Student Organization (CCSO) officers and committee heads. Swearing their commitment, the new leaders vowed to fulfill their duties faithfully and wholeheartedly by fostering humility, unity, dialogue, and fraternity—faithfully upholding the school's motto: "Scientia Maxime Cum Virtute" (Knowledge is Best with Virtue).

Carrying their rosaries and bringing heartfelt supplications, the participants seamlessly transitioned from their arrival into a solemn Rosary Procession. Walking together through the peaceful grounds of the Saint Luigi Orione Seminary, the community invoked the grace and intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary, Queen of Vocations, praying for her guidance and for the success of today's gathering.

The procession started in the seminary chapel and concluded in the seminary gymnasium, where the Holy eucharist will be celebrated.

This spirit-filled devotion was prayerfully facilitated by the Liturgical Committee.

Happening Now | Arrival of Daop-Palad 2026 Participants, Facilitators, and Visitors

Saint Anthony Mary Claret College (SAMCC) students, school heads, professors, staff, and guests are officially arriving at Saint Luigi Orione Seminary in Montalban, Rizal, for this year’s much-anticipated Daop-Palad!

The host seminary is buzzing with energy as participants gather from 15 religious congregations and 1 diocese, representing 8 different nationalities from across the country and around the globe. While everyone comes from diverse cultures, traditions, and walks of life, each one stands united with one shared heart and mission: to cultivate camaraderie, true fraternity, and lasting solidarity.

This year’s annual SAMCC Family Day challenges us to reflect and grow through the theme: "Diverse Paths, One Call: A Mission of Fraternity and Service in the Time of Artificial Intelligence." As technology evolves, our commitment to genuine human connection, faith, and selfless service remains stronger than ever.

Here's to a meaningful day of connection, reflection and shared purpose!
