𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | 𝐒𝐅𝐇𝐒 𝐒𝐒𝐋𝐆 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐍𝐗𝐓𝐆𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐓𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏

From the halls of San Francisco High School to the halls of Congress, student leadership took a step beyond the school grounds as the San Francisco High School Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SFHS SSLG) participated in the NXTGEN Congress 2026: Bootcamp, held at the House of Representatives in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Representing San Francisco High School were John Aaron Hernandez, SSLG President and QCDFSSLG District 1 Representative, together with SSLG Adviser Ms. Abegail V. Fulong. The event brought together young leaders for discussions and learning sessions that provided a closer look into the responsibilities behind leadership, representation, and public service.

Throughout the bootcamp, participants explored different aspects of legislative work and leadership. Atty. Roentgen F. Bronce, Executive Director, led the discussion on lawmaking, while Atty. Karlo B. Inocencio, Supervising Legislative Staff Officer III, shared insights through the session “Speak Up, Stand Out!” The Plenary Affairs Bureau was also introduced through the discussions of Dir. Maureen D. Macasiling-Olfindo, Director II, and Atty. Danica P. Ortiz, OIC Director.

Beyond the lessons on lawmaking and legislative affairs, the experience offered young leaders an opportunity to understand how ideas are communicated, deliberated, and carried forward into action. It also highlighted the importance of speaking with purpose, listening with responsibility, and recognizing that leadership extends beyond holding a position.

The SFHS SSLG extends its heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished speakers for sharing their expertise, knowledge, and experiences with the next generation of leaders. Their guidance provided valuable perspectives for student leaders as they continue to grow in character, serve their communities, and take on greater responsibilities.

After countless steps, stops, and new experiences, you’ve officially reached another milestone in your journey. From the familiar halls of the classroom to new workplaces and environments, this immersion gave us the chance to learn beyond what textbooks could teach. ✊

Every destination came with its own lessons, challenges, people, and memories worth keeping. 🤝

Getting here wasn’t always about how smooth the run was.
Some of us cleared every challenge with ease, while others had to restart, try again, and keep going even when the level felt a little too difficult. 🚀

But regardless of how your Term 1 went, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲. 🏁

To everyone who aced their exams, struggled through a subject, stayed up finishing requirements, celebrated small wins, faced setbacks, or simply did their best to keep showing up:

Five student-leaders from San Francisco High School represented the school at the Quezon City Youth Summit 2026, held from September 8 to 10 at the Mt. Makiling Re-Creation Center in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

John Aaron Hernandez, Norlyn Trongcoso, Ayish Jayzen Tumlos, Charlene Kate Gonzales, and Patricia Dane Olmoguez joined fellow student-leaders from various schools across Quezon City for the three-day summit themed, “Rise To Lead: Building Character, Serving Others, Transforming the Nation.”

The Youth Summit provided student-leaders with opportunities to strengthen their leadership character, deepen their commitment to service, and reflect on their role in creating meaningful change within their communities and the nation.

The SFHS SSLG extends its appreciation to Christ’s Commission Foundation Ministries, Inc. (CCFMI), the Quezon City Office of the Vice Mayor, DepEd Schools Division Office – Quezon City, and Elevate Main for organizing the summit.

The delegation also recognizes Mr. Henry Velasco for his guidance and support throughout the three-day gathering.

Through the summit, the participating Kikonian leaders gained new perspectives and experiences to carry forward in their continued service to the SFHS community.
