Quezon City, Philippines - The Little Shepherd Academy ground was filled with the sound of alarms today October 16, 2025. The exercise was designed to ensure that students, faculty, and staff are equipped with the knowledge to respond safely and effectively in the event of a seismic emergency.
Students from preschool were guided by their teachers in practicing the crucial "drop, cover, and hold on" technique. They quickly took cover under their desks, protecting their heads and necks, and waited for the simulated shaking to subside.
Following the initial phase, the children, led by their teachers and staff marshals, evacuated their classrooms in an orderly manner. They proceeded to the designated open-air assembly point on the school's playground, a safe distance from the building. Headcounts were conducted promptly to ensure all individuals were accounted for.
The event was part of the academy's commitment to fostering a culture of safety and preparedness within its community, reinforcing the importance of disaster readiness from a young age.
