Over the course of the two-day program, delegates engaged in proposal development workshops, mentoring sessions, and mock technical panel pitching activities designed to strengthen technology transfer initiatives and enhance the impact of research and innovation within their institutions.

The University of the Philippines, through UPSCALE Innovation Hub, UP SikLab and the UP System TTBDO, in partnership with the DOST-PCIEERD successfully conducted the Full-blown IMPACT Proposal Grant Writeshop under the KTTO-IMPACT Learning and Preparatory Program for Technology Transfer of HEIRIT Universities (KTTO-IMPACT NXT Program) on August 6–7, 2026 at The ApoView Hotel, Davao City.

Bringing together representatives and technology transfer officers from 26 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and 9 former IMPACT grantees, the two-day writeshop provided participants with practical guidance on developing competitive IMPACT proposals, strengthening technology transfer systems, and fostering innovation-driven partnerships.

The participants also engaged in workshop activities, proposal refinement sessions, and mock technical panel pitching exercises designed to enhance the quality and impact of their project proposals.

Through collaborative learning, expert mentorship, and peer exchange, the KTTO-IMPACT NXT Program continues to support HEIRIT universities in advancing technology transfer, commercialization, and innovation initiatives that contribute to regional and national development.

The UP System Technology Transfer and Business Development Office (TTBDO) is looking for Research Assistants (RAs) to support the UP Innovation Clusters: Ecosystem Mapping and Customer Discovery under the Path to a UPicorn (UPicorn) Program.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in innovation, technology transfer, market research, and industry engagements while addressing today’s socially relevant problems through UP-generated technologies.

The 𝗞𝗧𝗧𝗢-𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗫𝗧 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸-𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 was successfully held last May 7, 2026, at the UP BGC-Henry Sy Sr. Hall, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

As part of the “KTTO-IMPACT Learning and Preparatory Program for Technology Transfer of HEIRIT Universities” under the IMPACT NXT Program, the event gathered university leaders and stakeholders from DOST-supported institutions across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to strengthen knowledge and technology transfer initiatives, innovation portfolios, and research commercialization efforts.

The program featured the Presidents Forum on sustainable technology transfer frameworks for research commercialization, alongside Commercial Readiness Workflow workshops aimed at equipping KTTOs in facilitating the market entry of research-based products and services.
