When a client lies flat, the skin, brows, and facial soft tissues shift slightly. This can make the eyebrows appear more symmetrical than they actually are—or create a false symmetry that disappears once the client sits or stands up.

That's why professional PMU artists perform brow mapping with the client in an upright, natural sitting position.

Why? ✨ It reflects the client's natural facial anatomy.
✨ Gravity affects skin and muscle position.
✨ Facial asymmetry is easier to assess accurately.
✨ The brows can be designed to complement the face as it is seen every day.
✨ It helps achieve a more balanced and natural-looking result after healing.

Once the mapping is approved, the client may lie down for comfort during the procedure. However, experienced artists will often have the client sit up again throughout the session to recheck balance and symmetry before completing the brows.

Professional Tip:
No face is perfectly symmetrical. The goal of eyebrow mapping is balance—not perfection. A skilled PMU artist enhances each client's unique facial features rather than forcing identical brows.
