FairViews gave us the chance to speak up โ€” through every story written, every memory captured, and every message shared by campus journalists who became part of its journey. It became a space where voices are heard.

And now, we move one step closer to rising up into something new. As FairViews closes its final chapter, we carry the voices, memories, and passion it left behind since every ending is a new beginning.

See you at Press UP page.

The Campus Journalism Act of 1991, or Republic Act No. 7079 is a law that gives student journalists the power to write, publish, and speak their truth without fear of censorship.

It promotes editorial independence and ensures funds are allocated to support campus papers. While challenges like delayed funding still exist, the law remains a strong voice for student journalists.

Let this be a reminder that every student voice deserves to be heard. Speak the truth, write with purpose.

On this day, the Datu of Mactan, Lapu-Lapu, led the warriors who defeated Spanish forces commanded by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan.

To honor the victory of Lapu-Lapu, Former President Rodrigo Duterte has signed Republic Act 11040, declaring April 27 a 'special working public holidayโ€™ throughout the country in honor of the hero Lapu-Lapu.

Today, we honor Lapu-Lapu, a hero who deserves to be remembered, recognized, and celebrated by all Filipinos.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) says that the hottest temperature ever recorded in the Philippines was 42.2ยฐC in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, on May 11, 1969. This shows how hot it can really get in the summer.

And don't forget, if you're going outside, bring:

โ€ข Bring water to stay hydrated
โ€ข Dress in light, breathable clothes
โ€ข Protect your skin with sunscreen
โ€ข Wear a hat or bring an umbrella for shade

Avoid going out during busy times and take breaks when you need to.

Stay safe, stay cool, and take care, Fairvians! ๐Ÿ’›โ˜€๏ธ
